We rented the ground level flat for a few days in late May 2024. Aslaug the owner is a wonderful and kind woman who takes very good care of the units and is there if you need her. The unit was very clean and tidy, a large full kitchen though I wish there had been a microwave. The sitting room had a nice television and comfortable sofa and also very relaxing.

The bedroom was adequate and comfy with power outlets and a window.

The bathroom was decent with a large shower.

The breakfast, which was about the same cost as a mid level 4 Star Hotel was very lovely. Quite sincerely, the bread she personally makes is the best bread I've ever eaten!

The grounds around the property was so relaxed and full of Geese wandering around and a view of Reykjavik on clear nights. You can even walk to a small nearby beach..

The location is very convenient, not far from Reykjavik and very easy to drive to from the airport.

The not so great things: My only wishes were that the unit had a microwave. Also I really wish the bedroom had a television in it as well. I also wish it had been possible to use the fireplace. My final issue was just that during the summer months the large skylight in the living room made my senses struggle because even at midnight the skylight allowed a lot of light in, which was distracting and gave me a headache.

But overall I DEFINITELY recommend staying here. Its convenient, clean, great service and breakfast, nice surroundings and a great location and the owner was wonderful!

Right from the off, the communication with Áslaug was exceptional. She told us exactly everything we needed to know and aimed to accommodate our early morning flight into Iceland. ||The actual place itself is beautiful. Well appointed with all the amenities you could need. Cooker, microwave, kettle, coffee machine etc etc. the bed is super comfy and the shower is very hot and powerful. The views over the fields and amazing. You can see the sea from the room at the top and out towards Reykjavík the other side.||We were lucky to see an amazing northern lights show one night and even went out on the balcony to see it.||BREAKFAST - wow. What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Fresh yogurt, tomatoes, apples, granola, cakes, eggs and bread. We made rolls and sandwiches to take out for lunch from any left over items. Delivered anytime after 8am and she’s always on time! She even offered to make us something the night before as we had a super early flight on check out day.||We would love to go back. Absolutely exceptional stay! Host, Aslaug, was wonderful. The apartment was furnished to an extremely high standard and felt really comfortable. The bed, shower, WiFi etc. all amazing. The decor of the room really felt homely. Fridge, microwave, sink, induction hob with all the utensils and dinnerware in the kitchenette was very useful. ||||Location... 15 minutes from Reykjavik, 40 minutes from Keflavik airport. Great view of the President's Bessastaðir accommodation. We managed to see the Aurora Borealis from the seating area outside of our apartment looking on Bessastaðir and Reykjavik! ||||Onto breakfast... phenomenal! Aslaug catered to our dietary needs (vegetarian) perfectly and delivered a delicious breakfast to our room at 8am daily. Portion sizes so generous we always had leftovers that we could take with us for the day.
