This place is definitely not a decent place to stay! Recently i had booked this place for two rooms wherein in each room 3 people could stay. When we booked the owner confirmed us that in each room 3 of us could stay as they were spacious and for extra mattress he would charge 500, we negotiated it to 200 per mattress if we need it. On the day we reached Dirang it was evening. The entrance of the homestay is a turn off. It has an extremely narrow alley where only one person can walk at a time. Its dingy and not clean. One room was spacious for 3 people but the washroom was dirty. Except the western commode there was nothing else. No faucets no shower nothing! The second room was extremely small! There was no walking space at all. And there was another room which is like a dormitory with 3-4 mattress on the floor and it had no washroom attached. There was another room where the washroom was okay but the bed was kept in such a position where anyone can feel claustrophobic as the bed was kept in a narrow space between two walls ( imagine having a cupboard between two walls)

We we complained about the small room and the washroom with no faucets the owner said that he had informed us of the same and asked all our group members to use the washroom of the smaller room. It was impossible to stay that way! After much argument with him and his wife he decided to open the other room ( claustropobic bed ) so that some of us can use its washroom.

The only good thing was the food. It was simple and light. However the entrance to the dining area is not at all clean. The washbasin is pathetic. Once you see that before taking dinner, you wont be able to gulp down the food. You just have to close your eyes and wash your hands.

It was the worst stay in our entire trip! Just a single night for a few hours seemed like a nightmare!

PS : everything written above is true to its core!! This place is bang opposite to Hotel...

If you are visiting Dirang, and looking for a homestay, Khowti is the place that you can go for. The (two) rooms that we stayed in are very well maintained, located on the first floor. Outside the room is a comfortable common seating area with nice sofas, cushions and a table. The owners Mr Tsering and his family are so very humble, nice and caring. As my dad is old and has knee issues, they often tried to help and be around whenever he needed to climb the stairs for any reason. Despite their dining set up as well as their kitchen being on the 2nd floor, they said they could serve whatever we required on the first floor. Coming to the food. It was homemade, deliciously lip-smacking, piping hot. We asked them to make chowmin for breakfast, which is not usually served as a breakfast item, but they agreed to cook that for us, and to our surprise, they did not serve just chowmin, but they also gave us soup alongside, and everything was so damn good. They also made us try the Salt tea, which I loved a lot. Lastly, we checked into the homestay on my birthday. Since we were only three of us, Mr Tsering was so thoughtful to propose that we celebrate the birthday upstairs on the second floor in the presence of everyone, and I really loved celebrating my birthday along with them, since this was for the first time after so many years that I celebrated my birthday in presence of so many people. Overall, the stay was damn good. It really felt like home away from home. Cost wise too, it was so reasonable. Yet again I would reiterate that you can go for this homestay without giving it a...

Khowti Homestay!!! A home away from home.

I've had one of the best traveling experiences in Dirang this time around. The sole reason for it being Khowti homestay and it's hosts. Mr Nawang Tsering to whom I later referred as Aaku (which means uncle in Monpa language) is one of the most refined man that one will ever come across. Not only was he warm and hospitable, but he made me and my partner very comfortable during our stay in Dirang. Besides, his wife is a great cook. As a voracious non vegetarian, I always prefer eating non vegetarian over vegetarian, but for a change I opted to eat vegetarian on my partner's advice and the food prepared by her was not only tasty but it was served with love. Thank you Khowti for the wonderful stay. I look forward to visiting Dirang in future. I would recommend any of my family members and friends to stay in Khowti if they wish to...

It was my first time in Arunachal Pradesh and as a Foreigner Solo Traveller. The communication and cooperation was so helpful and friendly from the beginning that is really impressive than my previous experiences. I love mountains and the reason is the peoples of mountains and this experience proved that again. Apart from the room features, everything is so much appreciating that it felt like home. There is a continuous sound of a nearby waterfall as well. And the food is more than just awesome, I finished almost everything alone in the photos attached. Once again, I would recommend this hotel to any Solo or Group Travellers due to the friendly helpful behavior and for foods especially.

We stayed here for two days. This Homestay is at centre of the market, so if you are a backpacker or traveling through public transportation, this homestay location is very helpful. Best part what i liked is Hospitality. Owner is extremely sweet , U can enjoy hone cooked food . Even Owner of this Homestay Mr. Nawang helped us to pre book our seats in shared cabs and also provided local transportation details. If you are looking for budget friendly homestay , surely come and stay here. Rooms are decent .hot water facility is available. Overall good experience as per the cost of the room.
