The location is really good - right beside a shallow river where you can take a dip, swim or play with lifebuoy tubes they have onboard. (Charged 100 rupees per tube for resort customers).
They have four cottages to stay in a row by the river. Each cottage is basically a big-size tent that's enclosed within a solid wooden housing. Wooden flooring below and a thatched roof above. Two double beds in each cottage. One is an actual bed and other one is a floor bed with a partition between them. Ideal for a group of 4 people. Price 3000 per cottage. I think they do allow an extra person or two with additional charges.
Each cottage has an attached bathroom but I felt the bathroom was not well maintained and not clean. The bathroom has running water but no geysers as of Aug 2021.
They have a restaurant with seating options by the river. The service was quite responsive.
During our stay the food was really below average. We were told the main chef was not there but we were really disappointed with the food especially the starters. The pork dry fry, port stick, chicken dry fry were just bad. The breakfast however was okay.
If you book a stay, it's best reach there by 12.00 - 1 PM so that you can make the most of your stay. Check out time is 11 AM. One night stay here in enough I feel.
Going on a sunny day would be great to play in the river. Take cash with you to pay for your stay. Although they accept Google pay, mobile network is unavailable at most times.

Got the nos. for booking from the Chat section at Online portal of Sham khey resort and while asking for booking for 3 nos. of cottage @2500 they seek 50% advance and shared to me Google pay nos. and QR code. I have paid 2000+1700( as QR not allowed payment more than 2000) but they said( Tarun or Dipak kumar Das I don't know the fraud resort owner) your booking not confirmed and you need to pay again 3750 in one installment and I had paid again...again they said not confirmed and your money got struck so kindly pay us again so that I can refund your money back. After many conversations i have paid them again 3750. Now the total money paid 11190 to them in 4 installments. Now they said again than booking not confirmed and you need to pay the total amount 7500 for 3 cottage in one time than only I can refund your previous money . I refused and asked them to refund my total paid money of 11199 and he refused to do than. Instead of feeling sorry he challenged me that he will not refund my money and i have filled a complaint against them in cyber security and local PS also.||||Very fraud resort don't go....and boycott Sham...

★☆☆☆☆ Very Disappointing Experience
I recently visited this resort with my friends, and I must say it was a very disappointing experience. First of all, there was no one at the front gate to guide or inform us about any rules or entry conditions. We walked in thinking it was fine, as no staff member was present to communicate anything.
After spending some time there and taking a bath, we were getting late and decided to leave. That’s when a staff member suddenly showed up and rudely demanded that we pay an entry fee. He told us that if we weren’t going to order food, we had to pay the entry charge — something that should have been clearly informed to us in the beginning. We had already eaten at a restaurant a few hours earlier and had no intention to eat again.
The way the staff spoke to us was extremely rude and unprofessional. They clearly don't know how to talk to visitors. If there are such rules, they should put someone at the entrance to explain the terms and conditions properly.
Definitely not a place I would recommend. There are plenty of better-managed resorts where guests are treated...
