Almost 10 kms from NH ,Bokakhat. At agratoli range. An isolated aloof place far from the world. The road to the place is unbelievable (shocking) and somehow managed to reach the place having almost nil amenities. NO LIGHTS( 2 SOLAR PANELS available).Expwxted good food,IRONY!! the unlucky us...overall a sad experience....Should improve, as it claims to be in service since 2005...!! High time to improve the service..
Dhansiri Eco Camp is located just on the banks of the Mighty Brahmaputra and fencing next to National Park. I stayed there for almost 10+days and would call it my land of dreams. Perfect place amidst nature with friendly staffs, organic foods, birds chirping sound, river boating, midnight wilderness sounds with elephants roaring was awesome. They setup a barbeque and camp fire too. Awesome adventure camping and a place for just a weekend trip.

Read moreDhansiri Eco Camp is a lovely off grid “eco” “camp” nestled almost inside a Mising village. The last 3 kilometers of the road are unpaved. There is no state board electricity supply here. All the lighting (and phone charging points) are powered by a minimal solar PV inverter. There is no Air Conditioning, no refrigerator and beyond these, even the lighting in the camp is at an absolute minimum. This is the true sense of eco-friendly camping, having as low a carbon footprint as possible. The food served here is local Assamese type preparation, cooked on a chulah. The ingredients are fresh and organic, right from the camp. All the accommodations are made from bamboo and have thatched roofs. Hot water is provided once in the morning. Lunch and dinner is to be had in the common dining area. Dinner is to be had before 9:30 pm. The camp is located right next to Kaziranga and is in the flood plain of the Brahmaputra and Dhansiri rivers. The owner, Mr Gautam Saikia, has immense respect for this location and encourages the guests to take in the experience of staying in such a place. He is an accomplished wildlife filmmaker and knows the forest like the back of his hand. If you get a chance, you can even watch a couple of his wildlife films with him. If you are expecting a resort with lots of amenities, room service, multicuisine food, a place to party late in the night, this place is not for you. But if you want to experience deers, rhinos, water buffaloes from a close distance at night, sit in the camp area silently and take in the sounds of nature, visit the Mising village and appreciate their sustainable way of life, there is no other place like...
Read moreWe went their for 5 Nights but due to some work had to cut shot for 4 nights, but it was an amazing experience, Mr. & Mrs. Gautam are very humble, even though we met Mrs. Gautam for a very brief period she left a very good impression on us.
Me and my friend fortunately or unfortunately stayed their all alone, at that time there were no guests apart from us, and both of them especially Mr Gautam tried his best to make us comfortable. I don't know why some reviews said its not safe, its completely safe, we were just 2 girls but we spent are stay in peace. Their few point one must need to remember. Being in remote area and close to national park he tried his best to keep everything minimal and hence no loud music, dim light n lights off to give wildlife their space, plus we experienced wild Buffalo and hog deer roaming at night so its better to be in room just for safety concern, and outside room there's small balcony so one can spend night sitting n chatting there. Do Carry snacks or chips as its bit inside so no shops available, but on request he can give yummy pakora n maggi.
Food was very fresh , only thing is there's repetition in some dishes but non veg option are good.
He took care of our safaris, waterfall trek, boat ride gibbon sanctuary visit and gave us lots of info about park and wildlife around. Rooms are very basic with a small attached washroom no hot water, but can provide on demand. If you are looking for a luxurious stay then it might not satisfy you.
Overall its an awesome experience near the property their's an open grasslands for leisure walk and birding.
I would really recommend this place for a true escape from...
