Title: Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Hygiene, Unhelpful Staff, and Billing Issues

I recently stayed at FabHotel Red Rose in Amingaon, Guwahati, for two days, and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience.

Room Conditions: The first room I was given had a strong, unpleasant odor. When I requested a change, the staff initially claimed there were no other rooms available. Only after I insisted on a refund did they offer another room, which turned out to have a broken toilet and a non-functional flush. Despite informing the staff, no repairs were made during my stay.

Breakfast: The breakfast options were unsatisfactory, especially for vegetarians. The choices were limited to Maggi noodles and excessively oily puris. There were no healthy alternatives, and since breakfast was served as a buffet, ordering something different was not an option.

Additional Issues: A colleague of mine, staying in a separate room, experienced water leakage from the AC, making the floor slippery and hazardous.

Billing Concerns: At checkout, we were surprised to find that we were billed for three days instead of two. It required additional time and effort to have this corrected, which added to the overall negative experience. Bedsheets were dirty

House keeping was not good. We were very tired and didn’t bother to check the bed sheets at the time of entry, after few hours my son noticed that the sheets are dirty including pillows and pillows covers. We used our own sheets and thought that they will change it next day which didn’t happen.Toilet flush was leaking continuously like flowing water from a pipe. I have raised the complaint and they didn’t rectify it till I leave the room after 2 days. Room services are available but they are not removing dinner plates same day. You can see dinner plates with food waste are lying in front of rooms every day morning while going out.

Only one advantage to this hotel is it is best IIT. I will not recommend this hotel to any one if you are looking for easy access to IIT. It will be very difficult to get taxis from this hotel to IIT as most of the taxis are coming from city side and they are not ready to come from there for short drive. Hotel staff also not ready to support to arrange taxis you have to rent Uber for your requirement. Since it is for short distance they are not ready to come. It is a decent budget hotel near IIT Guahati. Rooms are not luxurious but comfortable, clean & functional with tea/coffee maker and AC. The bedsheets and towels are also without stains & dirt. Bathrooms are clean with running hot & cold water. Toiletries are very basic and unbranded. Room service is OK but housekeeping services need improvement. Food is tasty and service portions are sufficient. Prices are reasonable if you take lunch and dinner. Breakfast is very expensive and better avoided. Always take bottled water here. This hotel is suitable for business travellers or for overnight stays with family because of the lack of recreational facilities. Connectivity with Guahati is good and Ola & Uber are both available.
