Sinclairs Burdwan — Hotel in Bardhaman

Good:|* Great breakfast! Idli, paratha, luchi, bread, milkshakes, gulab jamun, and more!|* Solid room decor|* Western style bathroom with toilet paper, and the water from the shower contained to the shower area|* Beautiful wedding decorations at the entrance with a wedding every other night||Ugly:|The first two nights I wasn't bitten by mosquitoes at the hotel. The third night, I was bitten 10 times. In the morning I killed 4 mosquitoes in the room, and none of them had blood (so the ones that bit me got away). There is a small gap between the window and window frame for the leftmost room window (even when closed and latched), and I believe the mosquitoes were entering the room through this gap. After I brought this to the hotel's attention, the front desk supplied All Out, which kept the mosquitoes away for the remainder of my stay. The gap in the window was not addressed as of my check out time. And for this review's completeness, the room didn't have a way to hang a mosquito net around the bed as is typical for India. Recommendations:|* Add nets/screens to the windows to keep mosquitoes out|* Regularly inspect & fix windows that aren't able to seal properly when closed & latched|* Supply one All Out for each room upon checkin; don't wait until guests are bitten to supply All Out||Could be better:|* Room didn't have a USB charging port. This can be easily addressed with a modern alarm clock or lamp in each room with a USB charging port.|* The room had two beds yet only one set of towels. The front desk sent up more towels when asked.|* Electrical outlets in the room only took Indian & EU plugs (plug types C, D, and M). My chargers have type A plugs, which didn't work with the room's outlets. The front desk let me borrow a plug adapter for my stay. For the future, would be great if each room could have an international outlet or two. (The lobby area has an international outlet, adding the same thing to the rooms would work!) In the interim, if guests are checking in with passports from countries that don't use plug types C, D, or M, the hotel could offer the plug adapter at checkin.|* Not sure if I was doing something incorrectly, but with the geyser fully warmed up, I got ~5 minutes of hot water while showering before the hot water ran out.|* Wear & tear showing on some of the furniture, for example a drawer handle had detached on one side and was hanging loose, and white finishes on desks / tables...

I had visited twice with my family once. Our first experience when we visited here on Dec, 2016 was really great. We had some snacks and tea in the evening as we reached around 4pm. Food quality, quantity, the staffs behaviour and service was good. The washrooms were very clean and we liked the ambience and decided to visit again. Our second visit was on Jan, 2018 with my family once again. We had planned for lunch here and so ordered several veg and non-veg items. Food quality was not bad and the service was also fine. As it was during the winter month so it was quite crowded, which we dn't find in our first visit. Now coming to the point, I had went to the washroom after reaching the resort before lunch and I thought that it would be really clean as we have seen last time. But, it was horrible, as it was dirty, stinking, water and mud were spread all over the floor. People dn't flush properly and it was just yuck. I had asked one of the staffs to inform the toilet cleaner to clean it asap. I had to do wait for 15mins for him to come and he took another 20muns to get it cleaned. It was disgusting as I found, the cleaning staff dn't clean properly. So, was very disappointed and would probably not visit again as in this competition market there are several other resorts where we can get a proper satisfaction and which would be worth...

I have travelled at least 6 times in this property and my feedback was always great. Things changed when I visited last time around Oct 2021, few important aspects to socialize all: (i) property definitely lacks in maintenance, like walls are full of patches, water seepage throughout etc. (ii) Indoor badminton court is great but there is no AC which creates difficulty to play more than half an hour. (iii) Lets come to room, they charge Rs. 5000+GST for room but quality was pretty bad. (a) room bed sheets were not washed and changed. (b) bathroom was dirty, used and inadequate toilet tissues, sanitary fittings was not at all cleaned, soap dispenser was not functioning (c) room wall was full of patches, seepage and all (d) window carteen was dirty with bad smell, not sure when it was washed (d) centre table was not cleaned and there was hair on top of the table (e) tea flasks was full of dent and dirty (f) food was very tasty

Overall, management needs to work a lot in this property to get their standard back what it was 2 years back, all the best and I'm not planning to make my 7th...
