Nice Resort... But scattered... Check-in part was not at all smooth. We have booked for 2 nights for deluxe room where we have been upgraded to super deluxe rooms. We wanted to change the room but as per the person on the reception were too rigid and keep on saying that there were no other rooms available (Even though we were early check-in). On the other day, we have been provided Gulmohar Suite rooms. The rooms are quite good but its again far from the main resort and the room service there is not so good.
About Food, the food is quite good. Lots of options available in breakfast, lunch, High Tea and Dinner. Even on Saturday night they were having Barbeque which was very nice. This 2 stars only for the same.
Now lets talk about the disappointments and trust me they need to improve a lot in the same. All things are scattered. Like, For Breakfast and Lunch they kept in main building, for dinner we need to travel to Gulmohar. For another day, the dinner kept in main building and this things not being informed anywhere. Everytime you need to go to reception and have to inquire about the location.
Swimming Pool and timings : For using water park and toddlers house you need to go to Gulmohar and during the same time they kept High Tea at Main resort. Means how can be a person present at both the locations. We had to skip High Tea for this reason.
Transfer to and back from Gulmohar : They have kept the service for travelling to Gulmohar suites, but trust me you wont get it when you actually needed. We have many time waited for around 20 minutes for the service and then walked to that location. But walking with Kid to that location is little bit tiring.
Cleanliness : The swimming pool in the Gulmohar Suites was not cleaned in the morning. No person was present at the location where we can do complain in the morning. My son got infection due to the water. Beaware in case you are using swimming pool of Gulmohar Suites. Not recommended for children.
Room Service in Gulmohar : The room service in Gulmohar is actually delayed. We have ordered milk for my child and it came almost after 35 minutes and my son slept without having it. So I will never recommend Gulmohar Suites in case you are planning to have facility of room service for food items.
No information on Activities : There is no information on the daily activities anywhere. Everytime go the reception and ask for the activities and the location where it is going to take place.
Overall I would say that few things were nice but overall we felt like we are into some government place where need to ask for everything everywhere. Food was only on the saving part but again need to stand in queue due to weekend rush.
Would recommend to avoid it if you want to have relaxing vacation and if you are travelling with kids or senior citizens. There are other better option available with just delta...
Read moreBooking the rooms was relatively easy, happened on Whatsapp this time, so that's a plus. Rates were also attractive compared to other resorts, for instance Treat Resort where I had stayed last year. Day 1 - on arrival the resort parking lot (a small one) was full due to a 'destination wedding' over the weekend. We were given deluxe cottages right adjacent to the lawn where the Sangeet party was going to be held that evening (imagine loud noise hammering your one year olds' eardrums late into the night). It would have been courteous for the management to inform us that there was going to be loud music right outside our rooms that night. Overall the resort walkways are very narrow, covered with uneven paver blocks and steeply sloping in sections. Aged, toddlers and differently abled people will be frustrated. Even the lobby cum reception area does not have a slope to push your wheelchair or toddler's stroller. There is trash strewn all over the place in corners, pan spit in the corners of staircases. The food is quite good and the captain Mr Gautam was accommodating enough to make special arrangements for my kids. The food buffet is excellent and a plus (pure vegetarian). Foodies will not be disappointed at all. But mind you breakfast starts at 8.30am which is bit late, standard being 7 or 7.30am. Another plus. Dinner is poolside and there is some live entertainment over the weekends like karaoke or music nite etc. which does engage the guests very nicely. The pool is quite far from the cottages but good fun for the kids. But mind you there is no strict 'costume' policy. Even male guests were in the pool clad in their t-shirt & denims. Women in their salwar kameez. Changing rooms are non existent (use the 'unhygienic' toilets they said) & no one showers before entering the pool. Likewise guests sat smoking poolside with no one to reprimand them, and you automatically become passive smokers. Complaints to the manager were shrugged off, a big negative. Cottages are not well maintained, dozens of mosquitoes and dirty. The bathrooms (most important part of the stay) were stinking of pigeons (nesting overhead) with bucket kept upside down to cover the drain. I found out that tens of small flies were sitting inside the bucket, entering from the gutter (eeek !). No hooks behind the bathroom door to hang the toiletry kit/clothes/towel etc., that's got to be basic. Toilet seat of one cottage was broken, not fixed after repeated intimation. On the whole, it was a good experience but left a lot of room for improvement from the management side, need attention to small details if they want to develop loyal customers who will visit...
