I recently stayed at Hotel Diamond in Diu for one night with my family, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, which made us feel comfortable. However, the room cost was quite high, likely due to the vacation season and weekend rush in Diu.
The room itself was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. However, the extra bed provided was a small sofa, which was not suitable for my son, who is 6 feet tall. It was too short for him to sleep comfortably. Given the high charges, we expected a proper extra bed, which was a bit disappointing.
Another disappointment was the water quality — the hotel supplies untreated seawater directly to the bathroom, which is very salty and hard.
Additionally, smoking is allowed inside the rooms, which can be uncomfortable, especially for families with women and children. Our room had a lingering smell of smoke, and although the hotel tried to mask it with air fresheners, it wasn’t very effective. Even travelers in the neighboring room were smoking, and the smell carried into the nearby passage area, which was unpleasant.
On a positive note, the food was truly a highlight of our stay! Every meal — whether dinner or breakfast — was freshly prepared, delicious, and thoughtfully made. Hearing the sounds of cooking from the kitchen, like the clinking of spoons and pots, added a comforting, home-style touch to the experience. It gave us a sense of authenticity and care in every dish. The flavorful meals made our stay...
Read moreThis hotel was a disappointment to the core. Overprised rooms, the food wasn't upto mark, everything was way too spicy and way too oily. The rooms were a sanctuary of insects, the AC was leaking and destroying the bed and pillows. However we asked for a room change and they changed it for us but that room had issues of it's own. The bed felt like a water bed on the sea. The mattress had no lambar support what so ever. At night we realised it's located in a very isolated spot of Diu so feels a bit unsafe too. We were on a family trip and don't recommend this place unless your plan is to stay at the hotel itself. Comparatively we saw another hotel called Apaar, it's located in a more central location, cheaper and cleaner too with better access to Diu port etc. And if youre budget fluid I highly recommend Krishna Resort on Nagoa Beach where we went and had an amazing experience. Overall Diamond hotel was below...
Read moreThis is new property in Diu,India. They have started few months ago. The infrastructure and the ambiance of the hotel is very nice. One can enjoy the in-house restaurant as well as terrace restaurant where you can eat and drink. Rooms were clean and hotel was nice. The only thing which disappointed me was the quality of food. Firstly the restaurant is way too expensive as compared to the quality of food they are providing. We have ordered Chicken lollipops and the chicken was smelling like anything. It was more chewy than the chewing-Gum. We have send the order back and asked them to kindly fix this. But the person went away with our plate and re-heated our food and came back with same order. Finally we don’t want to get into any argument so we paid for eat without eating it. Room tariffs are on little expensive side so try to negotiate if you want to...
