Tourist Motel — Hotel in Gajpur

(Stayed on 11 Dec 2013)||||It is run by MPSTDC and located outside the Mandla city on the highway to jabalpur. Lush greenery in surrounding area make me feel like in a forest rest house. It has a good restaurant which serves delicious food. We had taken two room one Deluxe AC Room at ground floor & other one standard Air cooled room at first floor both rooms were good and spotlessly clean which you can find rarely in govt run properties.Plus point was courteous & helpful staff. this motel have all basic amenities you should not expect luxury but as per my opinion stay may not be disappoint anyone. If you have a plan to visit kanha Tiger reserve than you can stay here it is on the way to kanha national park if you are coming from jabalapur. Mandla city is itself picturesquely situated in a loop of the Narmada River, which surrounds it on three sides, and for 15 miles between Mandla and Ramnagar the river flows in a deep bed unbroken by rocks. have been to this place numerous time as i travel to kanha alot and it is best suited for a highway stop over ||||location - it is located on the main highway just outside the city of mandla (about 7km)||||facilities - the motel has rooms , bar and a restaurant . I have only used the restaurant and the washroom ||||restaurant - the food is decent , they can cook indian food well , any other food is not recommended . If an quick dish such as sandwiches , pooha , eggs are ordered it will come withinh 20 - 25 mins anything else is bound to take time ||||washrooms - the place has good and clean public washrooms , great for a quick break ||||activities - it has a small playground for kids though not...

Convenient place to break journey with or without advance planning... especially given the road conditions in vicinity that tend to wear you down and also stretch your journey beyond expected hours,place is conveniently located bang on the highway. Being MP tourism run offers a standard basic, decent accommodation and bill of fare too as far as the restaurant/messing concerned. Basically one knows what to expect.
