Krishna Homestay (rudranath temple sagar) — Hotel in Gangotri Group

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days during September 2022, One day while starting for Rudranath trek and another day while returning after the trek. Location: The Homestay is on the Gopeshwar - Mandal Road and while going from Gopeshwar, one will start seeing a series of Homestays towards the right at about 4 km at Sagar. The Homestay is the first, that one encounters on the right. The Name however is displayed as Krishna Lodge. Management: The Hotel is managed by a family of Husband, wife, 3 children and a relative. The prime mover however is the Lady who spearheads the operations, while the Husband manages external administration such as organizing pony/horses, organizing transportation etc. The Husband is very influential in the locality. Rooms: Rooms are very clean and well maintained. The bathroom provides hot shower. There are are three beds in the room and there are three rooms. One gets the view of the mountains sitting at the room or walking out of the room. Enjoyed the tea and food sitting outside and enjoying the nature. The tariff appears to be flexible based on the season and demand. Food: Very tasty food is served steaming hot and the menu is flexible. I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the food. Recommendation. I have stayed at this place for two weeks, and I almost wasn't missing home :p. Surrounded by greenery and mountains, this place is some 2-3 kms from the bustling city of Gopeshwar with good highway connectivity. Yet its very serene and peaceful as it is a little secluded from the busy city life. Washrooms are clean, good bedding, surrounding neighbors are very warm and helpful. The best thing is the food and hospitality of Surendra uncle and Sarita Aunty, who manages this place. You want any help just ask them and they woul guide you like family. The food they prepare is healthy and proper home food, with all the healthy ingredients. Their specialty is gehet ki daal and mundhwe ki roti, which is proper gadhwali food (ask her to prepare for you!). The internet connectivity is good with Airtel if you plan to work from home here, as I did the same for two weeks. Jio will not work here though. The prices are decent too, talking to them in advance will definitely help. Overall you will have a great experience and would surely come back whenever you are...
