This place is an absolutely jewel in Goa. A completely different way to experience Goa. An inclusive package of all meals and stay, the property is stunning and rooms are comfortable and spacious. there is a river and a absolutely stunning waterfall in the property through a 45 min hike which is totally private and scenic. the river by the farm is a perfect location to relax and splash around if hike isnt your thing
Suitable for couples , families with young kids and everyone in general
Eric and his staff do a phenomenal job at making our stay comfortable and memorable. A very hearty thanks to Sulaksha for cooking us some of the best food we have had in Goa. the breakfast spread of lemon curd, peanut butter and Honey (all farm sourced) is definitely worth staying for. An added treat was the feni that they distill and we got to learn the process of making it too. as a working farm, it's very interesting to see and learn about how they grow and produce their crops. you can see the process and then enjoy the fresh produce during the meals.
really a special shout out to Eric for making us stay longer and making us feel very homely and comfortable. he's very attentive to every needs and will tailor your itinerary as per convenience without saying no to anything!
they also sell their produce which is all organic and absolutely worth buying.
the place is so serene and calming that staying 2 nights is ideal for anyone. They are conscious about keeping nature plastic free and it's worth respecting their efforts since the forest is absolutely breath taking.
Remember to be conscious of the people serving you and eat dinner by 8 pm as the lovely lady goes home to then cook for herself and her family and comes back again the next day to serve you. she is too polite to say no.
the slightly muddy water in the toilet may freak some people out but it's mineral water so nothing to worry about. there is no contamination whatsoever.
the place also has 3 most friendly dogs and a very loving cat. please don't feed them but cuddle them as much !
the living room has an eclectic library full of books and the loveliest area for sitting. also they don't have Wi-Fi in the property but in their office 3 mins walk away so it forces you to connect with yourself , with nature and with those around you they even have massage and yoga services which can be availed on prior booking.
A word of caution: the farm is on a no network area so download and Mark it on the map beforehand in order to avoid getting lost, but the road is fairly straightforward and the locals know the farm and can always guide you.
highly recommend it even for the drive to and from mangal as it's on the edge of wildlife sanctuary
truly a Goa experience which many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've had a very negative experience dealing with the management of Mangaal Farm Stay.|||| Here are the details : Made reservation online for 2 rooms/2 nights on 3/12 at 845pm for 3/13-3/15. Shortly thereafter, 2 family members started feeling very sick due to food poisoning and had bathroom ordeals all night and couldn't travel to the farm. I called at 830 am on 3/13 morning, spoke to Jaywant who seemed understanding about the situation and asked me to talk to Pritam about cancellation/refund. ||||I called Pritam, he asked me to cancel online - I reported back informing him that I didn't see any option to cancel online. He said he'd look into refund options and get back to me later in the day. He didn't get back to me, I called him again next morning (3/14). I was now told that refund or cancellations are not possible at all. Pritam offered us to stay there at a later date but that won't work for us as we are on a short trip to Goa and leave tomorrow. We explained to him the ramifications of the importance of this refund for us and he then said he would speak to the accounting office and get back to us. Hours later, he has yet to do so and it appears our numbers are blocked or he is refusing to pick up our calls. ||||I do understand there is a 'No cancellation policy', but this is an extenuating circumstance and considering the timeline of events I requested at least 50% refund as a compromise for both parties. There was zero understanding or compassion for the nature of our cancellation. We've had to deal with the back and forth with them, all while trying to care for our sick family members and the added stress and waste of time has been extremely frustrating. With the above experience, I'm really disappointed by the lack of understanding and flexibility by the management. We were really looking forward to visit the farm, but based on my interactions with the management I do not recommend this anyone as I have wasted a lot of time and energy in this situation. I hope no one else has to go through the same ordeal, thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are a family of 4- 2 adults and 2 kids and we stayed at Mangaal for 3 nights.||||We were recommended Mangaal by one of our friends who stays in Palolem and having stayed at farm stays before we decided to add another to our list of farm stay options.||||Rooms- We were given a family room which was very nicely decorated. Upholstery, bed sheets and towels were all spick and span. We were provided Mangaal branded toiletries and we were quite impressed with the quality. We had requested an additional bed with the impression that the double bed might suffice my wife and 2 kids. However the double bed is just sufficient for 2 adults. If you have 2 kids you might want 2 additional beds. We asked for another bed and were promptly provided with one.||The bath room is spacious and has 24x7 hot water.||Netting on the windows prevents the entry of insects and mosquitoes||Food- Food is traditional Goan cuisine and has both veg and non-veg. Sulaksha will take care good care of your dietary needs and is very mindful of personal choices, though we were more than happy to lap up whatever she served us. Sulaksha would be one reason to surely go back to Mangaal.||Farm and around- The farming at Mangaal apart from the mango orchard and cashew trees is primarily in greenhouses. So it was a different experience from what we have experienced before in terms of farming.||One of my intentions to be at Mangaal was to explore the bird life as it adjoins the Netravali wildlife sanctuary. But I was a bit disappointed as the sightings were not to my expectation. ||We visited the nearby attractions of the petroglyphs, the bubbling pond and a waterfall.||Jaywant is a gracious host and Sebastian is always around to help you with whatever you need.||The farm house is very well decorated and has a very pleasant ambience. The kids had a whale of a time in the pool and then with the 3 cats. ||Mangaal also sells its produce and it is very aesthetically displayed.||Overall a very pleasant stay and gave us sufficient reason to be back at some...
