Staying at Ikigai in Hallan was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. After 9 really exhausting months, I reached here and instantly felt at ease, like something inside me finally slowed down. Shruti and Rahul, the sweetest hosts ever, made it feel like home from the moment I arrived. And their 2 adorable dogs, Shibhu and Zoro, took turns coming to me for pats like it was their full-time job, 😄 so welcoming and full of love, just like their humans. One of the highlights? I got the most beautiful tattoo of my cat done by this very talented tattoo artist Adi who has the cutest and the cosiest studio, Himalayan tattoos. My tattoo is perfect and I couldn’t have imagined it better. Shruti was there the whole time, keeping me distracted (in the best way), ❤️ and Adi worked on it with such calm, care and love, it never felt like a painful task, more like a memory being etched with kindness. We even ended up painting together, something I was honestly nervous to try because I hadn't painted in a really long time, but Adi patiently guided me, helped me slow down, and believe in what I was doing. It wasn’t just a stay, it was a soft, healing kind of experience. Each one of them, Shruti, Rahul, Adi, Shibhu and Zoro, gave me something I didn’t ask for but deeply needed. A little confidence, a lot of warmth, and moments that still make me smile. So grateful I found my...
Read moreI would talk about the people rather than the stay here.
The hosts are ‘cheap’ and inhospitable people without even knowing the basic hospitality etiquettes. We had a late check in (around 1am) and the host gave the room, asked for payment and went off saying ‘if you need water, take it from the cafe of 2nd floor’. We needed something 15 mins later and called her. She never responded as she was busy singing out aloud and chatting with her friends till 2. Is this what hospitality is? When asked for some extra time to check out, she became hostile and abusive. Very rude and commercial people who only care about some basic money in their pockets. And for a room that’s not even cleaned properly and makes noise of rain on the washroom. Also btw, you get a free alarm clock here at 8:30 in the morning where they are trying to teach the volunteers how to make a table in the common area. Making noises and spreading dust all over when people are trying to sit and just enjoy their morning. Ridiculous experience. Never met such hosts in my 5 years of travel who are such hungry to money and running a guest house without even knowing the real meaning of hospitality. Shameful! This is why people are done with Manali. Only and only for such...
Read moreHello folks,
Last month I went on workation with my friend and we're searching some good places for staying & work. Through online platform we got to know about Ikigai Manali, then we discussed our needs with the hosts (Rahul & Shruti), both were very cooperative and friendly. Talking about place, believe me it was an amazing experience. We faced some issues regarding connectivity but somehow we managed it. They've their cafe, you can work there while enjoying food or just sit there for while and enjoy the view. They have various options available for stay like Dorms, private room etc., for nominal price. The most important thing is location, it's approximately 15km far from Naggar town. I suggest if you wanna stay & travel then don't go for this (if you don't have vehicle), because commute is difficult but if wanna stay and don't want to travel then this place is for you. Cab and rental vehicle facilities is available there, but check first before going. We stayed there for 2 weeks and we travel nearby locations through rented vehicles. Must visit his place if you are looking for quite place or for workation. Pics I've attached just...
