Tucked away in the heart of Miyar Valley near Jispa, Himachal Pradesh, Kangla Camps is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable camping experience. Owned and hosted by the ever-welcoming Neeraj, this serene retreat is the perfect escape from the noise and chaos of city life.
In the month of July, the valley comes alive with blooming wildflowers, and a pristine river flows right beside the camp, creating an ideal setting for relaxation and reflection. Sipping smooth, warming Arrak (the local alcoholic delight), under the faint glow of the Milky Way, while listening to local folklore shared by Neeraj himself, was a memory we’ll always cherish.
Neeraj’s hospitality truly stood out. His dal was out of this world - hearty, flavorful, and clearly cooked with love. The chicken curry was equally delicious and comforting in the chilly mountain air.
Our morning began with meditation to the soothing sounds of the river and chirping birds. Later, we set off on a short hike through the valley, where we stumbled upon a traditional Gharat (a water-powered flour mill) - a fascinating glimpse into the local way of life. We also tasted a local fruit called Marypuzo, a rare treat with a flavor unlike anything else we’ve had.
Kangla Camps offers an experience that’s quiet, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature. With no one else around, the tranquility is unparalleled. Whether you're looking for solitude, local culture, or simply breathtaking natural beauty, this place delivers it all. Thank you, Neeraj, for an authentic and soul-soothing...
