River Side Cottages Manali — Hotel in Great Himalayan Range

The worst place I have ever stayed. Its a nightmare for me.

I was given room no. 302

The toiletries not provided properly.

Bed sheet was so small that it can not cover the complete mattress. Even bed sheet was not changed even one.

Mattresses are also very old and not comfortable. These types of Mattresses were provided in free dharamshala.

Flies in the room and we have to live with them for 3 days.

Even the Hot and Cold water in the bathroom is not balanced. Hot water comes from cold side also.

Even the jet pump in the toilet seat throws boiling water. I got burnt, my wife got burnt and my 3 year old son got burnt.

Initially only one towel was given and wen i requested for another towel, they provided me with old towel which was torn from my sides.

No water bottles and hot cattle was provided wen it is known that place is cold and family with small kid is coming.

But the food served was good, home like food but with limited choice, but this can be overlooked. Location is good to enjoy natural beauty and flowing river.

Guests Beware of the caretaker and Owner ‘Master’ Rajneesh who constantly reneges on his words and requires some pretty extensive training to exist in the Hospitality sector. We had the booked the property during the second wave of covid to get isolated in a place with a kitchen near Manali, we had discussed all rates and details before reaching the property and paid in advance for a couple of weeks. On receiving some offer after 3 days, which was more than what we were giving, the property started getting water issues, electricity issues and late dinner orders (3 hours delay) On complaining about it to ‘Master’ Rajneesh, he gave us a very bitter response that we do not use electricity appropriately as one light during the night was on which was due to our friend working on US hours. He turned off the lights from the main switch board and didn’t turn it on until we made a ruckus the next afternoon. This was all a plot to drive us off his property to get that better deal on the same days all the while berating us which he finally managed to do by asking us to check out because these things will continue to happen. AVOID LIKE YOUR LIVES...

As we are stuck in Himachal during this pandemic, the owner Mr Rajnesh shortened our stay by 12 days. We revolted and stated the gravity of the situation and how isolation is crucial. However, Mr Rajnesh was indifferent and even stated that 'You are living here for free' as we had agreed upon a discounted rate. A couple of instances I want to highlight, that occurred under supervision Mr Rajnesh that was intended to drive us out:

1. Water supply intentionally made scarce
2. Mr Rajnesh turned off the property's power supply when a colleague was working at night and stated 'Electricity is expensive and you guys are anyway living for free'
3. When we asked charges for cleaning utensils- the claimed and non negotiable rate for cleaning 6 plates and 2 cooking utensils was RS 500/Day (15,000 RS for our stay). We obviously refused the service.
4. Dinner served everyday post 11:15 PM
5. When we took these complaints to Mr Rajnesh, he asked us to 'Behave ourselves'
