Frustrating Experience at Vikrama Heritage Resort and Spa||||I recently stayed at Vikrama Heritage Resort and Spa, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The laid-back and slow service attitude of the staff left much to be desired. After requesting a towel post-swimming, no one attended to my needs for over 45 minutes.Furthermore, the air conditioning in my room was malfunctioning, and when I contacted housekeeping, it took them 45 minutes to arrive. The "fix" they applied lasted a mere two minutes, and the issue persisted immediately after they left. Additionally, despite being promised immediate action for a room change within 10 minutes, I had to endure another 2 hours of waiting with no response. While the property itself is undeniably pretty and well-maintained, the severely understaffed and seemingly indifferent service attitude of the staff tarnishes the experience. It's perplexing how this establishment maintains a 4-plus star rating with such glaring issues in hospitality. I hope the management addresses these concerns promptly to enhance the overall guest experience.||||Staff members such as Varsha and SP sir at front desk genuinely need proper training on dealing with check in and check outs they are mostly not even available at front desk when needed.||||I experienced a lack of basic information upon arrival at the front desk. The staff failed to explain essential details such as available facilities, meal timings, and swimming pool usage rules. It raises concerns about the effectiveness of their customer service training. ||||Additionally, I found the front desk male personnel to be lacking in soft-spokenness and basic politeness. It was disappointing to witness a disregard for customer service in such a crucial role.I noticed that I wasn't alone in my dissatisfaction, as multiple other customers had vivid complaints ranging from shower and TV issues to key problems. Unfortunately, it seemed that their concerns were falling on deaf ears. While the property's beauty is undeniable, it's crucial for Sarovar Portico to recognize that a complete staff revamp is essential for a truly positive guest experience. Aesthetic appeal alone won't compensate for the shortcomings in service. I recommend planning your visit only after they've successfully upped their game with a more attentive and courteous staff.||||During checkout it appears there was a discrepancy in my bill, as I was charged four times my actual amount. Upon inquiry, I was informed that the additional charges were due to the lack of signatures from other guests in the dining area. ||||So yes overall suggestion avoid staying here if you believe...
Read moreWriting a review without even staying at this place. Why? Because of the sheer incompetence of the management (or the person we coordinated with). We had been speaking to the manager, one Mr. Franklin, since early September/October 2023 for a booking during Christmas time. We had confirmed 4-5 rooms (for 16 people), and Mr. Franklin had assured us that the rooms are blocked for us. We asked, multiple times, for banking details to pay the advance. He assured us, quite strongly and verbally, that there is no need and the rooms are blocked in our name. We just have to come and pay after the stay. Fine, we thought. Very thoughtful of him. Come December, when we called to confirm, he conveniently said the rooms are now unavailable because we didn't confirm. This despite his assurances that the rooms have been blocked for us. All our Christmas plans with family were thrown in disarray. He just curtly replied it cannot be done. We realised what was happening. They were just waiting for a bigger party to book the place, and were using our booking as last-minute alternates. The moment a bigger group came calling, he cancelled our booking. He didn't even have the courtesy (or professionalism) to confirm with us before giving out the rooms to someone else. This even after our parents had physically gone to the resort, had a look at the rooms, had lunch with him present, and confirmed our desire to book the rooms. The resort might be good looking, the location stunning, but with unprofessional attitude such as this, I would not touch this place with a bargepole. I know what is going to follow. They will try to cover this up by replying saying we never "confirmed" or paid the advance. We can't help it, as we only have verbal assurances from Mr. Franklin that it was not required. All we can say is best of luck running this place with this kind of unethical and unprofessional practices. We, for one, are glad that we found an alternate and managed to avoid...
Read moreThis was the best resort experience till date. It just didn't feel like I am in Gujarat and that too just 40 45Kms away from my home but as if I am in Udaipur or some other such place. The structure is just apt to be called a Heritage Resort. I became fan of the structure the moment I stepped inside the resort. As soon as you enter here, you realise that this place has a world of its own. The place felt super quiet, soothing and peaceful all the time. They have really beautiful and spacious rooms with all the amenities that you would need for your stay. The rooms and havelis are also named in such a way that you keep feeling like you are in some palace only. The staff here is super friendly and well behaved all the time. At the restaurant especially, it felt like you are dining in a 5 star place as they keep looking after you all the time. The swimming pool area is what I loved the most as it looked amazing at night and it was fun and peaceful to be here. They have a big lawn area and also cycling facilities. The rates are also reasonable because the way they have built this place and the facilities that they are offering, I didn't find it overpriced or anything like that. I would highly recommend you to visit this place atleast once as I feel it's the best resort to spend time with friends and family or for a short stay. You can also visit the restaurant and try food here as well without any room bookings so you can do that as well before making any bookings if you are planning a stay here. It's also an amazing location for marriage functions with a view of Pavagadh Hills and it would look grand as well. Thanks a lot Team Vikrama Heritage Resort & Spa. Certainly...
