I had one of the best stays of my life over here, even if it was for just one day. The staff left no stone unturned to ensure that I had a comfortable and memorable experience at this hotel.
First impressions were great! The person at the reception was so considerate and swift with the check-in service that he got my room prepared an hour earlier than the standard check-in time. So convenient!
The room allotted to me was spacious, well kept, and had beautiful views of the highway (NH44), the main railway line that runs from Delhi to Punjab, and a vast agricultural land blooming with ripe crops just next to the hotel. I also enjoyed watching the sunset that day from my window.
Next up, I actually liked the idea of having glass-bottled water in the room, as opposed to plastic bottles. In the summer heat of this region, plastics may melt and harm the minerals inside the water, so it was refreshing to see that the hotel also encourages sustainable practices.
The main highlight of my stay, however, was the food at their restaurant. No matter what I ordered, it felt like I was eating at a 5 star rated property. The food was undoubtedly delicious and plated very well, but what stood out the most was that every dish was consistently good, whether it was the pasta arrabiata, or the fish and chips, or the chicken steak, or the chilli paneer and hakka noodles. Everything was up to the mark. They surely have a well trained chef brigade in there, and I must also show my appreciation to the restaurant manager for keeping the restaurant spotless and very organized. One of their servers, Munna Sharma, was incredibly polite, and ensured that I received all my orders on time. In fact, there was a dinner party going on at the restaurant that night, yet he never showed any signs of exhaustion, and continued to serve with a smile. Things like these add to the great experience of dining at such a hotel, and Geeta Sarovar Portico easily proved its worth in this regard.
I just have one small observation concerning that night. After having my dinner, I was on my way back to the room when I saw that the entire lobby smelled like cigarettes. It was coming from one of the rooms in that hallway. Now, I'm not sure if that room was one that allows smoking, but even if it does, I don't think having a smoking and a non-smoking room side by side is the way to go. And if it wasn't a smoking one, then someone clearly broke the rules of the hotel, and none of the staff said anything, despite visiting the hallway one too many times while I was there. So, getting to my room amidst the disgusting smoke was a letdown. Please ask your guests to go smoke outside, or your staff to be transparent in case they see someone breaking the rules.
Aside from that, I do not have any complains, and I'm looking forward to revisiting the hotel in the near future. I would absolutely recommend...
Read moreI recently dined at the hotel’s restaurant, FLAVOURS and was left thoroughly disappointed. The ambiance of the place is charming, but that’s where the positives end. The food was underseasoned and bland, lacking any real flavor or creativity. To start, the service was incredibly slow despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone took our drink orders, and it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did, the presentation was lackluster, and the taste was even worse.
I ordered the dal makhani & few other things, which was described as a signature item, but it was overcooked and lacked any real flavor. The side dish, appetiser & dessert was equally disappointing, arriving in a small, sad portion that didn’t reflect its menu description.
When we brought our concerns to the attention of the staff, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. For the price we paid, I expected much better in terms of both quality and service. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel’s restaurant based on my experience. I myself being a hotelier would want this hotel to work on their team and standards.
You need to hire a good staff. That majorly includes senior management. Pathetic...
Read moreI visited (5.8.23) with my family for dinner after celebrating birthday of boy. After sitting we welcomed by roasted papad which i have never had anywhere in India, its totally damp papad. I feel very embarrassed. Thereafter i had platter and fish is seemed totally boiled put it in gravy, i just threw that. After that i had chiken which is slightly better than the fish. Thereafter chilly potato which is also average. In the maincourse we had kadahi paneer and chicken biryani those are masa allah, overall its time and money wasting party. Worst part is that there is no washroom in first floor and restaurant area. We have senior citizens and kids with us. They feel so awkward. I mean what kind of designer or planner this hotel has who is totally mindless and brainless, the cook i dont think u have chef, but if u have chefs ask them to visit delhis tilak nagar or rajauri garden to taste the foodor for traning. Whosover is ur owner, i must say they opened this hotel for wasting time and money for others, they r totally mindless people who is not bothered about the taste and basic civic sense. I think this is enough...
