Club Mahindra Kandaghat resort is located around 25 KMS from Shimla. This is huge 16 acre property with various adventure activities in the resort ex Zipline , Paint ball, Rock climbing, and few others. Roads leading to resort are in better condition and there is 4 Lane road in making. Happy Hub is big enough which houses two Table Tennis tables + Other indoor games + 9D games , toddler play area Property is very beautiful with flowers planted all over and fruit plantation done as well. Room is spacious , neat & clean with good view and looks to be new Food : Good in taste and enough variety Lots of activities for kids to enjoy Property tour is arranged for the guests In addition to buffet dinner there is Barbeque At Bay restaurant where you can enjoy Barbeque varieties of veg + non veg
My Experience : Hassle free check-in & check-out process Lovely custom of welcoming/ biding aduie to the guests by applying tilak on forehead Room Service was quick. Eye pleasing and vibrant room interiors. Food quality was excellent and had good taste. Bollywood singing night kept on Saturday Dinner buffet should have more options. Breakfast buffet had variety of options with live counter of Dosa , Variety of eggs , Pav Bhajji in addition to fruits , juices & other delicacies Wish my room had a balcony for enjoying coffee with beautiful nature view outside.
Even after informing the club Mahindra team on my arrival timings , Rooms were not ready (bed sheets not changed , tea kettle not working fridge not cooling, number list missing on telephone ) but to my surprise room was still allotted. Special Thanks to Mr Hardev who identified and swiftly got into action of replacing the bedsheets and penned down there important numbers off the resort and also helped us with other problems. After complaining Next day Management team apologized for the issue and explained the cause and replaced faulty appliances. Other the goofup resort is must visit if you are in Shimla and you need to stay at least 3-4 nights to enjoy the beauty...
Read moreI don't know why Club Mahindra members pay whatever they pay if this is the kind of service they expect to receive. We were kindly gifted a two-night stay by a dear friend who is a Club member.
But everything - (i) the booking experience (the site is sluggish, unresponsive and an overall unnecessarily convoluted experience) (ii) the checkin experience (it took 20 minutes for some reason, and they couldn't find the online payment for guest charges that we had already made online) (iii) in room dining - we tried to order soup at 7pm but Nooo... They take orders strictly after 7.30pm. One would think they'd politely take the order and deliver after 7.30. (iv) the attitude of the staff is so bad, it was hilarious after a while. If we asked for extra glasses, they said we've already put glasses in your room, use those. If we asked for 2 extra they'd audibly groan about it. (v) Dinner at the restaurant - the dinner timings are from 7.30pm to 10.30 pm which is perfectly fine, but the last order, according to the waiter, was inexplicably 9.45pm! (vi) the rooms are just OK... The linen is rough, the furnishings are quite mediocre, there was no balcony (atleast in our rooms), the TV is from the 2000s, the remote's batteries had also probably run out about then. (vii) the toiletries were limited to a shower gel pump and nothing else... (viii) housekeeping for some reason only visits every other day, by policy...
Even writing this review and reliving the experience is making me stressed.
The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star is because the property itself is quite good, good well maintained lawns, sprawling sunset views, nice areas to bike/walk around and their activity room is fun.
Overall, I'd never recommend this place to anyone except people I dislike and who I want to wildly...
Read moreBad: This is not good for small kids(age less than 1yr.) and for sr. citizens. Rooms are very-2 far from the lunch/dinner area, it took 20 min by walk on one side (40min to and fro), so many stairs and steep roads for walking, you may feel fatigued instead of relaxing with small kids, so please avoid with small kids. We have 2 families and both have small kids (age 6 months), it was very terrible to walk so much every day with kids for breakfast and dinner. We have informed to Reception area to provide the rooms as we have kids very-2 small, and the lady at reception had ignored our concern, they had the immature staff at the reception. We ordered the dental kit in the morning and received it in the evening once we come back from our one day tour, the room service team is lazy actually. The major problem for the CM Kandaghat, there is no one leading person with whom we can track the customer problems. Need to improve on the Reception staff, it should be more mature in understanding the customer need. I had asked to drop at room in the night by car service, it took 20 min to wait for e-car and finally no response, finally we went to a room by walk at night with the kids. Looks like we have done a mistake to pick this hotel, which did not have any concern about customer pain. We have ordered the milk powders with multiple reminders.
