HOTEL NEELAM — Hotel in Himachal Pradesh

We were here to take part in a tournament. When we first tried contacting them by phone we had a very hard time. It was very difficult to communicate with the owner and they were pretty unresponsive. We eventually had to have someone go there personally and make a reservation. We reserved 4 rooms for 4 nights and paid about rs. 5000 as an advance. We arrived a little later in the day than we expected. Our first look at the rooms left much to be desired. However since we were on a budget we requested a 're clean of the rooms and bathrooms. I think in all hotels such as this there will always be a bit of a cleanliness issue. One of the rooms reeked of alcohol. After some switching around of rooms, we settled in and had a great stay. The two main caretakers became our best friends. Always enquiring after us for tea and meals. The food here is exceptional and some of the best to be had in the town. As long as you stick to Indian food, youre golden. Dont make the mistake we did by ordering dishes bread ..... it took a lifetime for the food to be served. We reached the hotel around midnight. I was lucky enough to get the last left room. The Hotel Location is good. Rooms were normal, do not expect luxurious room. After driving for almost 10 hrs, we were hungry and wanted rest. To my surprise the hotel was very clean, room was clean, but the bathroom wasn't that clean. The staff especially Veer was very helpful and they knew what the guest would expect. The kitchen was already closed, but on request, they opened the kitchen and cooked for us.
