While enroute to Palampur we thought of taking a night stay in some hotel at Una. It was already 8ish and we wanted to avoid the night drive in hills further. Thus we looked for hotels. There are plenty but someone guided us to PM residency and he said its a new property so must be clean. I checked Trip Advisor and found only reviews of their restaurant and there was hardly one review regarding stay. So basically we decided to just go and check the place in person.|It looks lavish but that's because it has two banquets on top floors. It has basement parking and ample area outside as well. The location is friendly too as its on the highway itself. We checked the rooms they were clean and spacious with a window which was good because I prefer a room with window that is not sealed. These days many economy hotels don't have much ventilation. This one had with a exhaust fan in washroom. So I liked the room.|I asked the manager if there is any discount he hardly offered us anything and we thought the room rent of 3ooo/- for this kind of hotel should not be bad. He was willing to give 20percent discount after much bargain. But then he said there is no complimentary breakfast even in 3k rent. I found it weird as its a small city and its common to find bed n breakfast in most hotels these days specially when they are charging 3k... It's not cheap you know! They didn't even offer bottles water complimentary. I asked that its a small thing and they should provide small bottles in room. Its basic courtesy. But the manager was too rude to even talk to. But by now we thought its just a night so let's stay as we were tired too after a long drive. We would anyway leave by 5:30am. Now these guys didn't even had courtesy to check room if there is any water on jug or if we need anything and if washroom has the water running properly.|Later in night we had trouble there was no water in jug. Thankfully we had a bottle of water with us. Water in loo was not running properly. We had great difficulty in taking a shower early morning. While we tried to call at reception there was no response. Somehow we managed. We left in morning and had to call bell boy to help us carry our extra bags. It took two phone calls to connect to reception again. So basically the reception is not 24hrs. Oh! By the way there was tea kettle and tea coffee pouches kept. Tea bags were not in original packing so tea had lost the essence and were kept loose. I mean mangers and staff doesn't seem very trained to give such minor details a thought may be.|So in all we liked the room but the hospitality and other facilities were zero and they charge luxury tax while they didn't provide any luxury to us. A backpackers hostel serves better than these guys.|We also used the restaurant of this hotel. Service was okay but food wasn't too great. It was just fine. Price wise its okayish. Like 180-200/- a dish.||Hotel- Not very cheap-No breakfast-No hospitality-Rude Manager-Clean and spacious rooms.|Restaurant- okay service...
ย ย ย Read moreWent to PMR. Una for dinner on Saturday,06th august along with my wife. Were made to sit on high back chairs which are not only uncomfortable but also highly unstable. Tried to change seats but of no avail. Ordered a mojito but was informed after ten minutes that they are short of "white rum". ordered virgin mojito instead and was astonished by the waiter's reply after ten minutes that they don't have mint for mojito. unfortunately, were seated below the TV, all appeals to lower down the TV sets volume fell on deaf ears. Meanwhile, a group of 8-10 shabbily dressed, chappals clad boys were made to sit on the table next to us. All of them kept glaring at us and the TV above us whose volume ran high. Most of the waiters were interested in Kapil Sharma show rather than service. Highly embarrassed, we lodged a protest with the captain and planned to leave and offered to pay for what we had ordered but not even delivered after about 45 minutes. Ultimately,better sense prevailed and we were made to sit on the other corner of the restaurant for our dinner but the damage had already been done and my weekend had already...

How would one fill if your guest leave without dinner due to long waiting by hotel staffโฆ In spite of advance booking, No professionalism. One may have to wait for his turn as they might have booked same slot for someone else without your knowledge. You may expect random guests moving thru your party disturbing your family privacy. Not a business minded hotel and its staff/managers. Be ready to face blackout with power cut with zero safety for children. Option like Shukrana and Gulmohar are far better and professional to their customers. BIG NO to PMR for any business or personal...
