I don't have the option to give it negative rating, we visited Chandratal in June 2018 and booked tents for 7 people for 2 days in 6 months advance after reading the reviews and more importantly many other camps in that region are not available online.
About my experience it was very terrible we reached around 8-9 PM in the night and when our car got stuck in nullah for about 2 hrs one of us went to the camp and asked from help from the staff, to our surprise they were not at all helping and just standing and watching, they even don't have any tools/ropes. Later they just left us there and we were able to manage somehow to get out of that problem. When we reached at camp they just try to accommodate 3 people in tents which can only accommodate 2, after much argument they gave us separate tents. In the morning when we asked to clean the tents the staff rudely told us that they won't do it as its not required (our tents were never cleaned during our stay). Just to update everyone about the location of the camp its just next to road which leads to Chandratal due to which there is always dust from the vehicles and if you just stand there for couple of hours you will feel like dust in our mouth. One very important point here is that they don't have tents with attached washrooms like the owner always promise (its a total lie as there is only in one common washroom which is always in very very pathetic condition due to the reason its been used like a public washroom by everyone, the people who visit Chandratal or their guests or by anyone). Even after complaining the staff was not ready to clean them.
My only suggestion to everyone is that I visited some other camps there and they were far much much better with attached washrooms and clean rooms (as they are not near to the road). So go for them and don't trust on the promises made by the owner of Jamaica camp or you felt cheated like they way we felt the moment we thought about it. Its not...
Read more8 of us (mostly between the age group 54-58) booked 4 camps at about Rs 4000 per night with breakfast. ||While the owner allowed us quick selection of the tent we liked, we just dreaded the idea of staying in poorly located dirty, dingy camps with dirty bathrooms. There was dust all around. There were people peeing outside in open around the camps. ||Nop food was available in the camps and in the only tent-dhaba adjacemt by there was nothing available except for rice daal and maggi.||We were tired and all the more disappointed and decided t let go of 50% advance paid and move to Manali instead. The owner although apologetic did not bother to refund any advance voluntarily.||Only those who normally live on a budget of Rs 500 per night can...
Read moreWorst experience! Extremely disappointing experience. The camp had a foul odor throughout. The room was damp and filled with mold / fungus .Bedsheets and blankets smelled terrible. There were no proper toilet facilities — the water pipe was broken, causing water to flood into the room. When we raised the issue, the person in charge casually said, "Ese hi kaam chala lo" (just manage like this). The food was terrible — some guests were eating dinner with just snacks like namkeen and bhujiya. Drinking water was also not available.
I genuinely don’t understand how this place has a 4.4 rating. We booked based on the Google reviews, and it turned out to be a...
