Katoch Homestay — Hotel in Himachal Pradesh

Stayed for two nights, felt it wasn't enough though. The best part about this place is that it is located in the middle of the forest. Reminded me so much of home, sound of the wind hustling at night, no honking cars, all you could see were just the stars and the clear moonlight. A perfect getaway for someone looking out to spend some self time. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms were very well managed. Sanjay Sir and his team were very hospitable, they were very kind to me and my friend - you rarely find one these days. Tyson stole the show though 😍 he was always there following us wherever we had gone for hiking. Oh yes, forgot about the food. It was just delicious, if you're lucky Sanjay sir will cook for you and trust me you'll love the combination of spices he adds. It's just too delicious 👌 We couldn't have asked for more, it was perfect! If you are looking for a very peaceful place to stay near Bir then this is one of the best. Neat and clean basic rooms with ground floor rooms (3) having attached kitchenettes. It is about 5km away from paragliders' landing site at Bir. If one is coming from Pathankot side then there is a shortcut to reach here, without going to Bir first and then coming at Katoch Guesthouse. The drive/ride uphill through Bhattu village, just after taking a diversion towards left after crossing Baijnath could be a bit difficult for inexperienced drivers. Sherabling Monastery aka Bhattu Monastery is also very near to this place. Host Sanjay Singh is a super host as well. I have stayed here with family and also with friends for more than 8 times now. Initially we thought its a small home-stay with small set up. But its well maintained big property with restaurant. Main advantage of this home-stay is that rooms are huge. compare to compact hotel rooms here rooms, bathroom is very big. also it is little away from village so its very peaceful and surrounded by many trees and greenery. There are mosquito at not because its surrounded by many trees but rooms are covered with mosquito net. |It has ample parking and located perfectly on google map.
