+1 for food, +1 for service (especially the staff at the restaurant who serve you like family), +1 for the beautiful lawn/garden. Everything else about the resort is underwhelming.
It is located on top of a hill but does not offer any special view of the mountains/scenery. Surrounded by other hotels, private residences, and buildings, the views are just about average. There are balconies at the back and verandahs at the front of the rooms but again, there are no views of the valley. Our rooms had balconies that opened into unmaintained land and sometimes stench would travel inside the rooms with breeze. The plastic chairs and tables they provide in the balconies were too old and cracked. The common verandah is shared by 4 families/rooms. Unless you are a group travelling together and happen to occupy all or majority of the rooms, be prepared for frequent and awkward run-ins with the other families. The rooms are that close to each other.
Rooms themselves are small, although clean. We paid 12500 INR/night (MAP and an extra bed) for the room but have stayed in much larger and comfortable rooms for a lesser or equivalent price.
There's something else that was an issue, at least for us. The resort seems to sell itself to aspirants for destination weddings and large groups. This can lead to the resort being noisy at times. During our stay, a school group (100+ guests) was visiting. So if you are visiting for peace and solitude, this may not be the ideal resort.
The garden is a great place to unwind and relax (since the balconies are rather useless). However, there's something that is not a problem with the resort itself but the tourist culture we have in general. Look at the attached pictures. Some guests partied till late night at the garden and left behind their trail and mentality for other guests to feel disgusted at in the morning. If we don't do anything about this sad state that is a story of every tourist destination, we will soon kill whatever is left of our mountains and...
Read moreI was there in premium Room from 31st march to 3rd April, and i would like to give 2.5 out of 5 to Koti resorts..
Good and bad detailing:-
Good -View from the hotel is good. -clean environment. -ground working staff(house keeping, Room service) staff are good 👍.
Bad -when i requested the hotel to provide vehicle at Shimla railway station as the hotel is almost 17-18 km away from station but the reception guy denied he said (madam station p bht sare rental car hote hai aap wo lekr ajao ) they didn't arrange any cab.... When i reached to Shimla station the situation was horrified there was lots of vendor trying to know all the details of your and force you to hire their cab... Hotel must take responsibility of their guest at least for pickup and drop facility......(you must charge for the same but atleast your guest are in good hand u should insure this).
-when i reached hotel the basic facilities like slippers, tooth brush was not their at room when i asked the reception guy he said madam sabhi guest ko required nhi hota hai is lia nhi rakha hai apko jo bhi chaiye aap call krlo(R u serious u r asking your guest to make a call for basic need in your premium Room for which u r charging 7300 per day ohhh man).
-my room was with Jacuzzi but the jacuzzi is to old and broken, water leaks.
-their is no respect of individuality we try to take buffet in evening and in morning breakfast but they prepare their food as according to their group of guest. (the group of guest came from #@#@ company they ordered veg buffet that is why for our all 3-4 stays we didn't get any nonveg buffet ) and becoz of this we had...
