Paragliding in Shimla - The Glide Inn Adventure Resort — Hotel in Himachal Pradesh

Hello Readers/Travellers, Here's my review for The Glide In. I would rather give it 2.5 stars if permissible.

Pros: This facility for paragliding is located at a very picturesque location.

Being at a remote location, Washrooms have been maintained very hygienically. I'm saying this because you will have to be at this location for few hours before you get a chance to glide.

A small in house restuarant offers variety of options to eat. Being with family and kids, it is an advantage.

Owners/staff are highly professional. Been into this business since 2 decades.

A cricket pitch to play during the time of your wait to fly.

Cons:

A small stretch of road , connecting the main road to gliding site is very bad. A hatchback might not be able to get on to the steep and raw stretch of road. Getting on to that would be your own responsibility.

Paragliding is Slightly over priced as compared to other locations in himachal.

Only 3-4 gliders/pilots are available in total who first drive you by their own car to the take off site in a batch. So one has to wait for a long time for his turn to be a part of the next batch only when the pilots and car driver return back to base location. That wait exhausts almost half of your day. If you randomly walk in to glide, without booking, you may end up waiting 3-4 hours for your turn. Which is totally not worth.

Flight duration is the biggest drawback. Only a max of 10 minutes that too if wind is favorable. Else you'll be in air only for 4-5 minutes. That much of a flight is equivalent to not flying at all.

No camera person available at the landing site to capture you gliding.

Fare for "go pro" camera to record you during your flight is exceptionally high.

I've been fortunate to glide some time back at Indru Nag Dharamshala and comparing it to the one at the Glide in at Junga, I would recommend NOT TO GLIDE here at The Glide In at all. Won't be a worthy enough experience. Rather wait for this wonderful opportunity at some other location in Himachal like Bir Biling or Manali or Dharamshala.

Paragliding at Glide Inn, Junga I would be writing my review across different pointers..a bit lengthy but hoping it would be helpful Enquiry: I came across glide inn after a random search on google for paragliding in Shimla… Mr Arun, has been a highly responsive honest and helpful person… And has answered all our queries with utmost patience Location : The Glide Inn is located in Junga, A little offbeat location but nestled in the lap of Nature .The view from this place is really good . We travelled about an hour from mashobra to get here but it was worth the travel time.The drive is safe … The last one mile is a bit rough but safe… The flight: It is a safe flight with highly trained pilots a spectacular view and overall a fun experience! A must do activity . Take off and landing: Just follow ur pilots instructions to the T … it’s a smooth take off and landing!! Safety: A safe flight.My 14 yr old son did it. He not only enjoyed the jump but also overcame his fear of heights.. The pilots are trained professionals and it was a safe flight !!! Amenities: Apart from Paragliding, The Glude Inn offers camping in Neat tents , There are also tree top adventure activities..They have a nice little restaurant with fresh clean and good food. … Neat clean toilets .Overall a well maintained place.. For those who fear that Paragliding in India cannot be safe…. Be rest Assured Team Glide Inn assures you a safe and fun flight … An overall fun experience , a must do activity if you are around Shimla mashobra Naldhera or Kufri… Thank you Mr Arun and Team Glide Inn for this amazing...

What should I say...just one word mind-blowing. Someone had recommended me this resort. So on a long weekend did advance booking and offer go. Long weekend means major traffic jam so took us almost 12 hrs to reach this place and trust me the fatigue ended just by a look at the view from the resort. The owner of the resort had called us in the midway to check whether we will have lunch at the resort and i believe it was really sweet of him. We were greated by his sons Arnav and aarav another sweet gesture. We were offered lunch and the lunch was home cooked by chef Mukesh. We shifted to our Swiss cottage and took a small nap as we were driving since 5 am in the morning. Then came the tea time followed by adventure sports. Evening was even wonderful with bonfire and watching the clouds come and go followed by sumptuous dinner. Next day was our paragliding day and we took off to the top of the mountain with our three pilots who after Pooja glided us one by one and the view from the top was mind-blowing. Trust me here every guest is treated like a king with personal attention and every day is like a celebration. Sharing some good memories with u all....
