As avid traveler I am always on the lookout for unique accommodations that offer a blend of comfort and authenticity. Our recent stay at Rising Moon exceeded all expectations, leaving us with unforgettable memories and a longing to return.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts, Dalip Uncle and Madhu Aunty who treated us like family throughout our entire stay. Their genuine hospitality and attention to detail made us feel right at home from the outset.
The homestay itself was a charming haven nestled amidst lush greenery, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Our room was tastefully decorated and impeccably clean, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the delicious homemade meals prepared by Madhu Aunty. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing local flavors and ingredients.
What truly sets Rising Moon Homestay apart is the genuine connection we forged with the hosts. From sharing stories over dinner to learning about the rich heritage of the region, we felt a sense of community that is rare to find in traditional accommodations.
In summary, our experience at Rising Moon was nothing short of magical. We left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of slow travel. If you're seeking an authentic getaway off the beaten path, look no further than Rising Moon. We can't wait to return for another...
Read moreRising moon Homestay is a serene and tranquil paradise. It’s located close to Jibhi valley and Jalori pass, atop a hill, overlooking the village below. You can reach here taking a bus from Shimla to Anni, and a short cab ride to the property. You can also take a cab right from Shimla.
We stayed with Dalip Ji and his family, who are extremely wonderful people, who made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food is extremely tasty, courtesy Madhu. Their cuddly dog mercy runs around the property making sure we’re all safe. We were lucky to meet his friends Leo and Alpha as well, who were kind enough to guide us through the forest.
The views from the property are absolutely stunning, and the silence is broken only by birds and a few small critters (although leopards, bears and other animals are known to roam around). The forest is an extension of the great Himalayan national park, so it’s great for bird watching as well.
There are tons of options to hike around, based on how intense you would like it. The forests are situated right in the backyard, so one can make their way around and hike to Serolsar lake as well.
The entire atmosphere is warm, welcoming, coupled with the stunning views of the ranges from the property. It’s hard not to feel peaceful here.
Hoping to come back as...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem run by a wonderful family. Mr. Dalip and his wife Madhu along with their children provide an amazing local Himachali experience. Their homestay is in the middle of a beautiful apple orchard surrounded by 100 year old Deodhar trees. You can go for long walks every day. Needless to say, it's a very peaceful and rejuvenating homestay. The rooms and restrooms are neat and comfortable. They cook delicious home cooked food or give you a kitchen to cook your own food. You can easily work from here because both Jio and Airtel provide good service. It's close to breathtaking locations like Jalori Pass, Raghupur Fort, Serolsar lake and 360 degree viewpoint. You can also trek to Lambri top from here. If you're coming by car, make sure you fill your tank because there is no petrol pump for 25 Kms in both directions.. The last 1.5 Km to their property is an off road experience. It's easier if you have an SUV. And if it's your first time, it's best if you get here before sunset. Highly recommended. Will...
