Himalayan Sun Cottage — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

I stayed here for several weeks. It's a great location, close to Dal Lake and Mughal Gardens, 5 mins from airport. The cottage is charming with beautiful green lawns and tradition Kashmiri inside. My room was charming and spotlessly clean and the ensuite luxurious. The family showed great care for me and being a solo traveler it was important to feel safe. The food was incredible, all traditional Kashmiri cusine, very hygienically prepared and taste was 10/10. The family spoke excellent English and were happy to discuss Kashmir and their culture and always made sure my daily site seeing was exactly what I wanted to see and more. My stay at Himalayan Sun Cottage was the most memorable one in India. It was just amazing. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped .There was a nice, cozy garden outside where you can relax and have your meal. The dishes served to us was so yummy. Some of the best food we ever had! Its my 3rd visit to Kashmir and I have to say , this is one of the best accommodation I ever stayed. Mr Javeed, the host was very hospitable and took good care of us during our stay. He did everything to make our stay enjoyable. He even organised our sightseeing tours .The level of service was beyond our expectations. I spent 5 nights at Himalayan Sun Cottage with Javeed and his family. It is a very clean and comfortable home and in a quiet area. You do need transport/driver to get around, but Javeed made arrangements for all of that, as I visited outer areas in the mountains. He also arranged for my “water trek” (a day on Lake Dal), as well as a houseboat for the evening and a shikara ride to the floating markets. This all combined, gave me a perfect tasting of Kashmir.
