It was our choice to stay in this hotel ( 2 rooms 2 nights) based on the amazing online ratings but our experience was really disappointing for the stay in mid Jan 2022.
Heating System - 1 star: Centrally heating system was available but with a restriction of 6 pm to 12 am. Single blow room heater was provided to be used if required , but with a condition not to use it during power cut as this device interrupts with the generator performance in event of power cuts (which are pretty frequent in the area) Electric blanket was available which worked as long as the key’s inserted in the holder.
Night1 was manageable with the combination of the above options but Night2 turned out to be a nightmare. The centrally heating system got some fault that got resolved only around dinner time (9 pm or so). Centrally heating system couldn’t be fixed for the other room. That room’s blower got shortcircuited, so ours was taken away and given to them, with the promise that the centrally heating system will operate overnight in our room. However it was shut down by 1 am. Electric blanket was the only heating device available to survive the minus 7/8 degrees night for 2 adults and a kid in the room. No wonder, the kid got up next morning with vomiting, loose motions and stomach ache. Medical consultation called it bad health due to cold.
Room : 2 star I could have called it an average (3) but there was black mold on the walls and inside wooden cupboard making it really unhygienic to use. The room had ear-pricking door bells, not for weak hearts.
Dining area & food - 3 star Dining area is outside the main hotel building with no proper heating system. This means, once you’re back to your room in the evening, you’ll have to layer up again to go out for food. Food options were limited but decent. Timings were 8:30 am & 8:30 pm , which are an hour late per the normal hotel standards. So in case you’re planning to step out by 9, you’ll have to gulp down your food, else start your day late.
Staff & Room Service : 4 Star Very courteous staff. Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Provided us all the necessary information required for site seeing. Offered extended help in arranging a cake on the spot, online money transfer to his account which he’d pay later to the local pony vendors, helped us with the medical stores info for the sick kid etc. Coudn’t give 5 star to this category because of a couple of reasons, room service used the ear-pricking room-bells lavishly even at 10 pm, multiple room visits were needed for one or the other purpose (electric kettle, faulty heating system, blower exchanges- take away etc.)
Overall rating for me is certainly less than 3 (2.5 to be precise). Not recommended for...
Read moreWorst experience for a 3 star stay. The hotel was booked for us by the travel agency - Kashmir Holiday Travels. We stayed here for 2 nights during the last week of December 2023 and the hotel fails to fulfil very basic requirements. The staff doesn't make any effort to resolve any issue and simply blames the hotel management. The Restaurant is quite excellent and doesn't leave any stone unturned for foodies.||Rooms:|The Hotel management didn't put any effort to make the rooms on check-in. The issues we found during our stay are as follows: |- Dirty floor. No mopping was done prior. One can see the footprints of previous guests very clearly |- Electricity issues. The moment you need the heater to be turned ON, there will be no electricity. Generator is present but doesn't work when it needs to. |- Dirty and Yellow Water. We literally had to skip bath due to this. The hotel staff doesn't have any clue on why the water was yellow. |- Toilet Flush Issue. The flush was not working properly and we had to fill and pour in the buckets to flush. |- Dirty Bed. We literally had to pull out human hairs from the bed. ||After all these issues, the hotel staff still had the audacity to ask for "Tip/Baksheesh". They said there were issues related to hotel management and not due to them. I was STUNNED.|||Restaurant:|Food served here was extremely good. The restaurant staff were very helpful. The restaurant staff prepared us a hot sweet dish within 10 minutes on our demand.|||My suggestion is to stay AWAY from this hotel if you are getting room at any price greater than Rs. 1500. Anything more than that and you will REGRET your decision. You will do better if you book cheap LODGE present in the vicinity.|I wonder why this hotel is highly rated despite the poor hygiene, unprofessional behaviour of the staff. Any rating greater than 2 looks fake or paid. This highlights the collusion of travel agency and hotel management to SCAM innocent people by providing sub standard services after getting paid decent...
Read moreThe resort is located in a picturesque area surrounded by mountains and the Middle of town. We stayed on the 1st Floor (Room #-201). The rooms are very spacious, clean and well-maintained. The Mattress is little on the hard side but by the end of the Day, you will be soo tired, you will sleep like a Baby. The staff are very friendly and courteous especially Shahnawaz Khan. Very Friendly and Polite and made sure we had fresh Towels and Water Bottles, which made our stay much more pleasant. We could see the peak of those mountains covered in thick clouds as soon as you open your eyes from the Window . The breakfast is complimentary and includes a variety of dishes, along with fresh fruit, they don't have a buffet but they have a live kitchen so expect some nice hot Aloo Paratha, Omlette and Chole Bhature which keep coming until you tell them to stop. There are a variety of food choices available for dinner as well and they are made according to your Taste (Spicy or Mild). The food quality is very good. Unfortunately I wasn't around to eat my lunch as most of the day we'd be on the Road. They have a Beautiful garden with flowers and a couple of Swings. For those who love nature, Outlook will feel like your Dream House.
Thanks to the Central Location, Most of the Shops are close by to the Hotel, but it's a little longer walk if you need to get to the Banks of Lidder River. Taxi stand is approximately 2-2.5 km away.
At present, with Amarnath Yatra in progress, expect a lot of Security and checkpost. You need to be in Pahalgam before 4PM if not, be ready to face some inconvenience from the Armed Forces (Not Blaming them, they were just doing their Job).
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort, and would like to come back again.
