Enroute from Kargil to Srinagar we took a halt to see beautiful Sonmarg with a lunch halt at Snowland resort restaurant. Superb veg. Biryani with Kashmiri Dum aloo😋it was lip smacking. Then we were not allowed to resume our trip to Srinagar as there was curfew in Srinagar so no cars were allowed. This was a nightmare as all hotels were full. |We went to the Sindh Resorts and met the most amazing and helpful person I have ever met Mr. Bashir (GM) of the hotel. He arranged two rooms for us and with complimentary dinner and arranged transport as my Leh driver was scared to finish the journey. Amidst the mountains and river flowing by this property is in the laps of the nature. We had booked 4 deluxe river facing rooms and we were awestruck with the spectacular view. The rooms are neat, well furnished with 24 hours hot water facility. The management was kind enough to accommodate us by early checkin as we had reached Sonmarg much before the regular checkin time. The restaurant manager was a very kind and humble person who managed to completely satisfy our tastebuds as per our requirements (even in the shortage of supply due to Srinagar curfew). There is a small lawn outside the rooms where a small tea table with chairs are kept to enjoy the beauty of the nature while relaxing in the resort. Must stay...
