THE HOME 2 — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

The wholesome experience was so so bad with this hotel. I haven’t seen such nonsense hospitality ever in my life at any hotel. The owner was very rude and also the staffs. I have no idea like why they were so adamant. They were supposed to give us two view rooms for two days but they failed to give us the same. They gave us the view room for only one day which had no meaning of giving it to us as we had to leave the hotel very early to catch a train from Jammu. The rooms of ground floor was very stinky and dirty. My stomach was rising entering the bathroom. The second day we were asked to change to the view rooms. They couldn’t supply hot water . After calling several times to the reception they asked us to put our bucket out of the room so that they can give us hot water but they were so so late hence we had to check out from the rooms as we were running late to catch train. We couldn’t take bath that day. But one thing to mention here that while they came up with the bucket of hot water they were continuously ringing the door bell even after asking them to wait as we were changing our clothes. We were very much disappointed to see that they have no etiquette. When we opened the door after wrapping up they were shouting at us. What kind of behaviour it was I don’t understand. There are so many things are to be written about them. I don’t know what to write and what not to. The most disgusting thing was that how can they ask us to leave the hotel and to contact our tour planner when they failed to Provide us the view rooms. This hotel by all means is not a 3 star hotel. The rooms are quite small and dingy, bathroom is even worse. I checked into the hotel around 5:30 pm and when i entered the room, it was ice cold, i asked for room heaters. They said they have centralised room heating system and they run it only in Nov-Dec etc.and not in September. Again when asked for running hot water in the bathroom, they said hot water comes around 2-3 hrs in the morning and in the night, not all day as they have some steam boiling system. And by the way, hot water didn't come in the night also although it would have been useless anyways. Means what kind of a non sense hotel is this, where room heating service is available in peak winters only like you're making a rule that you can use AC in May-June only. And again, is this kind of a chawl where water comes as per timing. When you come to your hotel room after a long day, you need to have a relaxing hot shower which was not available, The hotel staff were not cooperative at all in this matter as i asked to provide a single room heater/blower for my room which they didn't. The food was average, the location of the hotel is good as it is on the highway around 10 kms before Pahalgam. The bed was small. Wifi was also not working properly I don't know why. The staff asked for a tip shamelessly when I checked out. Since it was booked by my travel planner we had to manage otherwise I would have left for Srinagar the same evening. We visited Pahalgam as a part of our itinerary during December arranged by our travel agent. This was the worst hotel out of all. Our stay was spoiled because of this hotel. Reasons: Worst staff behaviour We reached hotel early Around 4pm. Because it’s winter time , temperature was freezing , around -6 degree. So we requested staff to switch on the heater a little early. But they were arrogant and replied heater will start by 5pm. We adjusted and waited. Even it’s 5pm the room was ice cold. We requested again but they said it will take another 30min as the hearing happens by the heating of water , so worst arrangement. Again we waited , but almost one and half hour later also heating was improper. The way heating was happening it did not surpass the cold. Even hot water was less than lukewarm which was insufficient in that freezing temperature.When we informed that to the hotel manager , the hotel manager yelled and said ask your travel agent to change your hotel.We provide this much service only,So harsh and rude. Also the bathroom is so shabby , not well maintained. Basin is getting blocked On the second day after so much of telling and getting told by the travel agent they changed our rooms , which was little better but still the heating was insufficient .
