I recently had the opportunity to stay at this resort, and it was an interesting experience. It is truly a peaceful, natural retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The place is surrounded by beautiful greenery, which offers a serene environment to relax and refresh. If you’re someone who loves nature and aesthetics, this is a fantastic spot to visit. The staff is friendly, especially the housekeeping team, who are incredibly helpful, gentle, and attentive to guests’ needs. Their customer service is definitely one of the highlights of the stay.
However, like any place, there were a few things to be mindful of:
Positives: Natural environment: The resort is beautiful, full of lush greenery, and is perfect for a peaceful getaway. Great staff: The housekeeping team goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort. They are very accommodating and handle any issues with care. Complimentary breakfast: The breakfast provided was tasty and fresh, a lovely touch to start the day. Aesthetic value: If you’re into photography or simply enjoy beautiful surroundings, this resort offers plenty of picturesque views.
Negatives: Insects and discomfort in mud houses: As expected in a natural setting, there were many insects, especially since we stayed in a mud house. We had insect bites throughout the night, and unfortunately, there were no mosquito nets or disinfectants available as promised. The all-out mosquito repellent was also empty. Billing issues: We booked our stay through MakeMyTrip, and despite paying in full, we were asked to pay an extra ₹1500 for a child at check-in. After raising concerns, we didn’t receive a proper bill at that time. It wasn’t until we escalated the issue with the MakeMyTrip team that we got the refund. Be careful with their billing process, as it can be confusing, and you need to keep track of your charges closely. Food pricing and portion size: The food quality was okay and tasty, but the portions were very small for the high prices. It didn’t feel like the cost justified the quantity. Misplaced charges: During checkout, we received a bill that included items we hadn’t ordered. Thankfully, after clarifying with the staff, they corrected the bill. However, if we hadn’t noticed, we might have been charged for those items. Noise and safety concerns: On our second night, there was loud noise from other guests consuming alcohol and causing disturbances. The lack of proper management for such situations made it difficult to sleep, especially as the door to our room was broken, which made us feel unsafe. I suggest they improve soundproofing and door maintenance for better security. Staff behavior: While most of the staff were great, there was one particular person who was a bit rude, which was unexpected, especially in the hospitality industry. It’s important for the management to ensure that all staff members treat guests with respect. Wi-Fi issues: One of the major disappointments was the Wi-Fi service. We were told that Wi-Fi would be available in the rooms, but there was no connection at all in our room. The Wi-Fi only worked when we went out for breakfast or to other areas of the resort. It was frustrating, as the promised Wi-Fi service was not functional in our room, which is something to consider if you need reliable internet during your stay.
Suggestions: Be mindful of your charges and keep a detailed record of your orders and payments. Opt for premium rooms over the mud houses if you prefer comfort, as the mud houses were not as pleasant due to insect issues and broken doors. If you’re looking for a peaceful experience, consider checking with management regarding noise policies to avoid disturbances from other guests.
Overall, while the resort has a lot of potential with its beautiful environment and great staff, a few improvements in customer service, maintenance, and billing transparency would go a long way in enhancing the...
Read moreThis December 2020 we visited Dalmanchal resort near Dalma, Jamshedpur. The resort was quite widespread, with lots of greeneries, reasonably and thoughtfully decorated.||||But, I would say considering the tariff they are charging, it is not up to the mark, there are many areas requires improvement.||||Location wise not at all good as it is just besides the National highway.||||We visited during winter so hot water at washroom was a must, but unfortunately it was not adequate. They might have some common Geyser system, no individual Geyser switch etc., you need to wait and waste almost 3 full buckets of water and then you start getting hot water, moreover evening time hot water flow is less.||||Staffs are courteous however require more training on hospitality, how to serve tourists. We kept kid's food at room, later during evening couldn't find the same, while checking came to know the Room service people through it away. What a mess.||||There are electric kettle for self-service tea/coffee, but you need to call room service to fill up the tea-bags/coffee sugar etc.||||The manager's mobile phone is mostly busy as that's the phone number if you need to connect reception or room-service for any info or service. And that's the only option, unfortunately.||||Foods are costly considering the quantity they serve, a full veg polao is not enough for an adult person. Non-veg options are less.||||Menu card is available in their website, anyone can see and understand. E.g. two eggs (boiled/omelet) cost you 150+tax.||||You need to order food 2 hours in advance. Barbecues options are there but again costly affairs.||||They serve complimentary breakfast, but poor service, one morning I went for breakfast and asked for bread toast and egg and funny part is that, waiter told me there is no Egg in kitchen. Breakfast options are less as well, inadequate quantity most of the time.||||Dining hall seating option is not adequate to serve all the tourists, you might need to wait to get a table.||||All together I would not recommend this resort considering what you are getting vs high cost.||||I would say a little...
Read moreWent to Dalmanchal resort for 4 days. It’s an experience of a farm stay. The rooms and facilities are surrounded by farms, lush plants and trees. They grow staples like rice, herbs, spices and fruits like mango (170 trees), guava, chickoo, lemon, kamrak, jamun, Karonda, etc.||There is a shop on the premises selling some of their produce, various spices, pickles and jams. All made on the premises.||The rooms are very well made - clean with good bed linens. The bathrooms too are well appointed. Don’t expect luxury like in modern high end hotels, but one doesn’t rough it out here. And it’s certainly comfortable. They also have 4 mud huts which are equally comfortable and well appointed. All rooms have air conditioning.| |The food is excellent. Good choice and well made. They have a wood fired oven too and a Barbecue. We had a juice of green plants and herbs every morning which was very tasty. I don’t know if it on the menu, but I’m sure the hosts will oblige with some specific requests.||They have a swimming pool of a fairly good size with filtration plant and a sunken bar. (BYOB). Wow. Other activities too.||Number of large lawns for picnics and parties. Many groups come for a day visit and picnic on the lawns. They were preparing for a group of 70 persons who were coming the day after we left for a breakfast picnic. Some stay the whole day. A more than 100 years old banyan trees (a good photo op place). ||No cars allowed inside the farm. Parking available just outside gate. ||The super-hosts visit the site almost every day and take care of every need of the guests.||There are some tourist places nearby- elephant sanctuary, lake, picnic spots, beautiful waterfalls, etc. All-in-all a lot to do if one wants or just relax in the pool or one of their hammocks with a good book and drink. Or play and enjoy with your kids. So much and so many options!||A stay for 2 or 3 days can be very relaxing, enjoyable and fulfilling. Must visit. Preferably 3 or 4 families. Then the place can be enjoyed to...
