Hotel Skylark — Hotel in Jharkhand

I stayed in this hotel because a friend recommended it to me. Unfortunately, things had significantly changed since my friend last stayed there:||||- The hotel is run by a liquor company recently acquired by Diageo. In the meantime, they lost their liquor licence, which the hotel manager said he would get back in April 2017. Why he didn't pay to retain it in the meantime is a mystery as all his clients flew away to the mafia run 17 Degrees Hotel -see my restaurant review.||||- Bearing in mind the above, the hotel is not run by hospitality professionals. One waiter had an inacceptable attitude towards me and the female morning receptionist should do another job whilst she had an insulting behaviour and responded rudely to what I asked her||||- I was given a street-facing suite room in which I could not sleep due to the noise; furthermore, the 25 liter geyser emptied half way through my shower -sorry I'm not Indian and I don't shower with a water bucket||||- After threatening to leave, I was then given another larger and very quiet back-facing suite room with 2 bathrooms. I was initially happy that I could move from one shower to another until I was told by the plumber that the second bathroom didn't have a geyser. Neither the hotel manager nor the receptionist knew about this, which demonstrates how unprofessional they are. Why have 2 bathrooms if the second one doesn't even have hot water?!||||- After having been treated rudely by staff members and served unprofessionally in the restaurant, I had an extensive discussion with the hotel manager who fixed most of the unacceptable behaviour. However, this morning, when I asked for 2 cups of tea for breakfast, I received one full cup, and the other one empty! It could be amusing if you were not paying Rs.4,000 a night -in my case, I found it pathetic to need to ask 3 times to get another cup filled up with tea...||||- Different areas of the hotel are pretty much run down and unclean, such as the exterior windows, the lift, the roof, the fixtures etc. Once again, this is clearly not a hotel run by hospitality professionals||||- One good thing is the hi-speed WiFi -but why do they give you a 12-digit username only valid for 24 hours?! This is just a hotel, not a bank... Did someone ever give it some thought?||||- The bed was very comfortable, but I needed to ask for a portable heater to make it bearable to stay in the room at night in the middle of winter. Shouldn't they provide it spontaneously?||||- There were so many electricity buttons in my room that I needed to be an electrical engineer to figure out how to switch all of them off! Can't they have one single switch which turns all lights off?||||In short, this older hotel could have been nice if it had been properly refurbished and run by professionals.
