Horrible !!!absolutely Horrible.. Room was good with clean bathroom and all basic amenities provided. Food was also okay considering the remote location of Lachen and limited facilities available in the town. But families are kindly requested to avoid this property at any cost. There are better hotels which might be bit expensive but would not spoil the mood of your vacation. Reason for these words: The local management is totally managed by a bunch of uneducated unprofessional fellows. I had booked the rooms with breakfast and dinner included in the package which was affirmed by the manager named Surya. But during dinner time we were asked multiple times by the unprofessional staffs 'ap ka dinner included hai kya''. what a shock in front of bunch of guest that we had to prove yes it's included. At the time of check in, I asked the manager how long can we use the room as upon our proceeding gorudongmar as early as 6 am for tour from lachen would take around 6 to 6 n 1/2 hours, to which the manager Surya replied the room can be used till 1 pm but we have check out positively at 1pm. I assured we will checkout from the room at 1pm as per his request and would return at the earliest. on the morning no one was at reception to kerp the keys so we took the sane with ys. we returned around 12:15pm. when we were proceeding towards the room the staffs asked us not to use the room as the same has been cleaned and all beds and bedding have been refurbished for next guest using the master key. we were shocked. how can that be, when the manager Mr. Surya assured we can use it till 1 pm and we have 40 minutes with us. I enquired what about our clothes which were kept in the room and supposed to be worn by us for proceeding to Gangtok. be it mentioned the clothes consisted of ladies clothes and personal clothes too. the staffs replied " woh hum room k ek corner par rakh die". how can someone touch the clothes and personal belongings using the master key without permission of the guest. isn't it a criminal offence by the part of local management. when I confronted mr. Surya he denied of such commitment which confirms his dirty mind and attitude to get in touch with personal belongings of guest. despite all these odds we checked out sharp at 1pm but none was there to help us to bring the luggages back to the car.
So families please avoid this property at...

We stayed at Hotel Blue Pine Lachen for 1 night for our next morning trip to Gurudongmar & Chopta valley. Lachen is a very small place and there are not many options for mid-range hotels, Blue Pine is probably the better one of the lot. It is located at the beginning of the town and the market is a 2-3 minutes walk further. The views from the hotel and around it are spectacular - you can see Mt. Lachen on one side and the Lachen river valley on the other.
Our room was huge, it was a family suite with 2 rooms - one with a big king-sized bed and the other with a queen bed, sofa, fire place etc. Even the bathroom was huge with running hot water, clean towels, etc. Everything was clean, although a little damp from the cloudy weather. They don't have TV in rooms and it is also not required because most people check-in after 3 PM and check-out very early morning (5 am). All the beds were comfortable with huge and warm blankets. The room could've been insulated a little better as cold air was leaking in through window cracks.
Their service is very good. We were welcomed with hot tea and pakodas on arrival - perfect in the 2 degree weather. They also offered us hot tea and Maggi very early in the morning (5 am) before we started for Gurudongmar lake. Special mention for John (the manager), who was very cooperative and pro-active.
The food was decent. They do not serve non-veg food but do have a tiny bar. They served a buffet dinner with only basic items like roti, sabji, daal and rice but everything was fresh and hot, the Chhole and the daal were tasty. I'll recommend not going for the breakfast (or any other meal) package because nothing substantial is ready in the early morning and other meals can be had in the...
