Hotel The Central Guest House — Hotel in Kanpur

Hello everyone,

This guest house is best for staying. You can book online as well as by going there. The price for a dormitory is 300 per bed. And room prices vary from about 750 per room for two people.

There are also AC rooms available as well as only cooler rooms also available. You can check the price list in the photos I have uploaded.

I have used a dormitory bed, so here are the details which I noticed. Hope it will help you.

In the dormitory there are 12 beds in quite a big room. They will provide beds, washed blankets, washed pillow cover, a locker box (quite big), a charging point, a ceiling fan for every bed, a hanger. A water cooler is available for drinking water and shared bathrooms.

You can stay for 24 hours from the time you start staying.

It is 5 minutes walking distance from the Kanpur Central railway station. But you must check that you are exiting to the city side, not to the cantt side.

There is also a metro station near this guest house. It is also 5 minutes' walking distance from this hotel.

This guest house is budget-friendly. So you can give it a try.

The only good thing about this hotel is that they have a dorm service of 300/- for 24 hours. This dorm does not deserve a single penny more than that. Rooms are all outdated, old and with very uncomfortable amenities. The shared bathroom and toilet are always dirty like roadside toilet service. The service is the worst. When you ask them to clean the rooms or bathrooms, they don't do it. I am a person who needs a blanket or at least a bedsheet to pull on while sleeping and they refused to provide that. Even after I offered extra charges, they denied it. The staff is too old and arrogant to entertain you. Even the drinking water is not clean. The water purifier is so old and dirty that you need to buy a bottle of drinking water from outside. Food in the restaurant is worse and too expensive. The dormitory is always dirty. I will never recommend this hotel to a friend unless he ( this is not a place for a girl at all considering security and privacy) is ready to compromise security, privacy, decency and self respect at a hotel. WORST HOTEL...

The hotel is in a good location. Staff is fraud and fake, unsupportive, and the manager is of bad mindset. I pre booked a room for my relative and fully paid in advance but an old age manager tried to pull more money from them while checkout time. Firstly he tried to grab the full amount of room again but my relative told them that money has been paid online during the time of booking. So he uses his second fraud masterstroke that he doubled the price of the room and asked for the extra money but my relative dialed a call to me so the manager refused and let them go. I am shocked that how can an old man (receptionist) do such a fraud attempt. Shame

I think the hotel is covered with cctv cameras but still the manager will click the photos of us which is uncomfortable. Second thing is they asked for returnable extra caution money even though we have paid them advance.
