During our recent trip to Honnavar, we had the pleasure of staying at Casa Ardilla, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Though located a little inside, getting there is easy—a quick ₹100 auto ride from Honnavar Bus Station will take you straight to this charming homestay.

Bathrooms & Facilities
The bathrooms are big, spacious, and spotless. They come with a geyser for hot water, making the stay even more convenient.
Hospitality & Local Experience
A special mention to the caretaker, Manjunath. He is an amazing, humble, and extremely helpful person. Even before we reached, he assisted us over the phone and helped us secure a great deal on scuba diving. Once we arrived, he also arranged a boating experience in the Sharavati River backwaters at an excellent price.
What made our stay even more memorable was how he walked us through the railway bridge and unexplored lanes of Honnavar village. These places were serene and breathtaking, offering a unique local experience that we wouldn’t have found otherwise.

We couldn't find the place at first, but when called, Dinesh was available and ready to point to the place. It is a simple building, nothing fancy right under the railway bridge. It has a good view towards the backwaters.
The rooms are in the pent house kind of setup, entrance is separate from the main building. But the interiors are top notch. The rooms are so beautiful with huge windows( little scared of privacy but has curtain blinds) the early morning sunlight comes so perfectly into the room. There is no noise disturbance except for the train sounds very now and then.
The room was clean and neatly maintained. Fresh sheets and covers were added. The washroom was lavish and neat.
Dinesh has been really helpful, he speaks in Hindi so language was not an issue. He helped us pick a restaurant for food delivery, places to see in and around Honnavar. Helped us rent a bike. Then also took us boating at a very good price. He was always available just a phone call away.
The owner met us later at the end of they stay, he too was warm and welcoming. As there was 6 hour gap between our checkout and bus timing, he was helpful and gave us their home to place our luggage. And furthermore, asked us to use their top floor rooms to get freshen up right before our bus. That was really helpful and we are thankful for it.

We also had the most beautiful back view from our room, which made mornings and evenings even more special. The stay is surrounded by lush greenery, which makes the environment very cool and refreshing, even during the hotter summer months.
