A Tranquil Escape at DevaDhare Resort
I recently had the pleasure of staying at DevaDhare Resort in Sakleshpur, Karnataka, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of the Western Ghats, this resort offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, comfort, and adventure. Location and Ambiance
From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort’s stunning location. Surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills, DevaDhare provides a serene and tranquil environment that is perfect for a getaway from the city's hustle and bustle. The drive to the resort was scenic and easy, making it a convenient destination for a weekend retreat. Accommodation
Our cottage was spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated to blend with the natural surroundings. The room featured large windows and a private balcony that offered breathtaking views of the landscape. Waking up to the sounds of birds and the sight of mist-covered hills was truly a rejuvenating experience. Facilities and Amenities
The resort’s facilities are top-notch. We spent a lot of time at the beautiful outdoor swimming pool, which is set amidst the greenery. The on-site restaurant served an array of delicious local and international dishes, and we particularly enjoyed the authentic South Indian cuisine. The food quality was excellent, and the service was prompt and friendly. Activities and Experiences
DevaDhare Resort offers a wide range of activities that cater to all kinds of travelers. We enjoyed a guided trek through the coffee plantations and nearby hills, which was both invigorating and educational. The resort also organized bird watching sessions and a visit to a nearby waterfall, both of which were highlights of our trip. In the evenings, we relaxed by the bonfire and enjoyed a barbecue, creating memorable moments with fellow guests. Service and Hospitality
The staff at DevaDhare Resort were exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout our stay, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality. The team went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, and their local knowledge added great value to our stay. Commitment to Sustainability
I was impressed by the resort’s commitment to sustainability. Eco-friendly practices, such as sustainable construction and waste management, are integrated into their operations, which enhanced our appreciation for the beautiful environment we were in. Overall Experience
Overall, our stay at DevaDhare Resort was nothing short of perfect. The combination of its scenic location, comfortable accommodations, excellent facilities, and warm hospitality makes it a standout destination. Whether you’re looking to relax in nature, embark on an adventure, or simply unwind with great food and company, DevaDhare Resort has something for everyone.

Travel - If you are traveling from bangalore then as per google maps it shows Hassan - Shakleshpura route, after Hassan the road construction is in progress so it will slow down your travel pace a bit and too much of dust while traveling (for those few kms) , once you have ended the shiradi ghat then the beautiful journey starts. Last 2kms is a bit off roading.
Stay - As of dec 2022, they offer plantation cottages, tree house. Cottages can accomodate 3 people with ₹6000 per head per day and tree house can accomodate 4 people with ₹7500 per head per day. (It may vary when you are checking)
Ambience - Try to visit during winter or Rainy season, thats when you get the lushy green surrounding, waterfall, water flow sounds which takes you to a different mind set all together compared to mundane lifestyle of city.
Activities - Trekking - Suggest you to dont miss out on this, Shambu who was the guide for us took us to agani gudda peak which offers you a 360° view of the surrounding, from where you can even have a look at ethina buja and few other iconic locations. Try to wake up early for this, its better to start at 6:30 AM to get more out of this trek.
Indoor games - They do have carrom, pool table, chess, foosball which you can use at any point of time to enjoy or to have some fun.
Kayaking - It is available and they suggest you to go for it, unfortunately we could not try.
Waterfalls - You get 2 waterfalls inside the resort (smaller one - almost at the beginning of the waterfall trail and bigger one - few steps downwards from the smaller one ) We would recommend you to enjoy the waterfall during winter season at around 10AM, it will still be so chill and once you are in there enjoying it, you will have adrenaline rush to keep standing under the falls even though you would be shivering due to cold.
Food - The best part of our stay was food. We enjoyed all 3 meals of the days + their snacks along with Tea/Coffee + a la carte menu (extra pay) which you can order during bonfire.
Update - They are in process of building new cottages, swimming pool and few extra activities which would add value when families visiting them.
Hoping others also have similar experience and we would look forward to visit again in coming years.
P.S. - If you have not been in tree house before then you can try to book tree house for the experience else their plantation cottages are also equally good.
Siddarth, Viju, Chandrashekhar and their team which consists of cook from udupi and kalsa along with other people from bihar and assam never said No to us, either it would be for food or assistance...
Read moreRecently we stayed at Deva Dhare Resort for 2 nights, and it was just an amazing experience. We were 4 ladies and a 6 month old baby, and it was such a beautiful getaway. We were recieved by 2 gentlemen - Mr. Chandrasekhar and Mr. Sajan. Our luggages were moved to our cottages and we were treated with a lovely welcome drink. We met Mr. Samprith who gave us a bit of introduction and information regarding the place. We were informed that the whole place has only 6 dwelling cottages/ rooms. And the dining area due the way it was built had won international awards. The whole experience was very private and we did not feel like we were in a resort. We were midst of marvelous mother nature, a beauty at it's finest. We stayed in two cottages on day one and then we got to experience the Tree House the next day. Very neat, clean and spacious rooms. Coming to the best part - Food! I personally enjoyed each and every meal so very much. The resort had boasted about their food to be just like home cooked meals, and they are 100 percent right. The food was prepared with so much care and love. Food was warm and very tasty. The second best thing at Deva Dhare was the hospitality. Every single person working there were very professional and at the same time, very friendly. We could experience the comfort feeling of home at this beautiful location. As for recreational part - we did kayaking at the small pond in the resort. We took hundreds of photographs and videos to create memories as the place was just too beautiful. There was a campfire one night since it did not rain. There is also a recreational room which holds Carrom board and snooker table. They do take you around the estate and a small hike up the mountain. We chose not to do it because of our little one. It did rain here and there but that added beauty to of our experience. The only thing that I would say could be challenging for people with knee issues is all the walking and climbing to get to the dining area for food as there is no room service. But I think that helps keeping the place very neat and clean. All in all, wonderful experience and will definitely be back again. Thanks...
