We were 15 of us, went from office, for a colleague's wedding and stayed for 2 nights. Some were with family(kids included). This homestay has two cottages, one dormitory and one wood house. Only cottages have attached bathrooms and cots. Place is scenic, in the midst of an organic plantation. No cellphone signals, no TV, very calm, serene, wildly beautiful and was a bliss. Surprisingly, no mosquitoes. There are no geysers in the bathrooms, but medicated hot water was available, both in the morning and in the evening. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. The owner, Mr Hegde is very friendly and a perfect host. Food was hygienic, simple, home made and was great. No non-veg though. However, Mr Hegde was ready to serve non-veg, cooked from some other house. No one was keen in our group and so we didn't insist. He has even arranged for a camp fire. We can also buy pepper, jaggery etc from Mr Hegde at a price much lower than the market price. He has also taken us for a guided trip through his plantation and a trekking trip to a nearby hill the next day. Overall, the stay was good. It could have been great if attached bathrooms had been there for all the rooms. It felt a bit crammed for 15 of us. But, at the end of the day, it is a homestay and not a posh hotel. Will I go back to this place again or will I recommend to my friends? Of course, YES, but if you are not expecting a commerical posh hotel with pool and other luxuries. You can have a relaxed, laid back holiday here with a simple and holistic food...
Read moreThe home stay is good for a day's stay. The rooms are decent not great. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place. The cottage is surrounded by lot of high rise arecanut and cocunut trees which was soothing to the eyes. There is a hammock to keep you engaged for a while. There is a campfire area where we spent some time dancing around at night. The atmosphere is clean and provides a fresh breath of air which we really miss in cities. The food was barely edible, not great. It was good enough to fill the stomach to satisfy the hunger. I really missed home food. On the checkout day morning we were served with hot samosas which was the really good and something to remember. The owner was active and willing to take care of our needs and arranged for everything. Overall, it is good for a short stay. There is not much activities to engage you in...
