Gagan Giri Homestay — Hotel in Karnataka

My friends and I, a group of 7, recently stayed at this homestay during our trip to Chikmagalur, and it was a fantastic experience. We booked 2 rooms, each with 3 beds (one king-size and one single cot bed), and an additional bed was provided for one of the rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were impeccably clean, making us feel comfortable right away.

The common dining area was also spotless, and one of the highlight of our stay was the delicious, freshly prepared food. In the mornings, we were served Idly, Chutney, Sambar, and Vadai. For dinner, we enjoyed chicken kebabs, Chapathi, Rice, Dal, and egg curry. The quality and taste of the food truly exceeded our expectations.

The place offers some killer views, and it's a quick 20 - 30-minute ride from the city. There's plenty of farmland around, perfect for a scenic morning walk.

Big shoutout to Prasad, our host, who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed for a super comfy stay. We did a lot of searching before picking this stay, and let me tell you, it was totally worth it for the price.

Whether you're travelling with family or friends, this homestay is an excellent choice. They've got dorm rooms on the top floor too, so it suits all sorts of groups. We got to know about this place through a driver at bus stand. Initially we were little hesitant since we did not read any reviews and driver was looking little commercial. But after reaching the location, we were awestruck with the location of the home stay which was surrounded by mountains and plantations. The room was very clean and comfortable to stay with a nice mountain ranges view. Prasad Shetty, owner of the homestay, had given us a warm welcome with nice coffee in the early morning. After we came back from mountain ranges trip, Prasad Shetty had made us very comfortable with a nice evening coffee. We had a great experience in viewing sunset from our room. He arranged camp fire and music which we enjoyed a lot. After that he served us great food with local flavor which was delicious, tasty, yummy and new to us. We stayed in this property for almost 3 days & the experience was simple top class. We had booked the top floor dormitory room which had 12 beds, clean & well maintained washroom, 24x7 hot water facility, TV & ofcourse a great view. Prasad Shetty played an integral part throughout our stay in Gagan Giri homestay. He took great care of us throughout the 3 days. From breakfast, lunch to dinner everything was served hot & quick. The quality of food simply enhanced our experience, all thanks to Prasad Shetty for staying up till 3am in the night and making sure all of us were served quality food. Additionally Prasad Shetty gave us advices on places to visit in Chikmagalur & that really helped us to make the most of our 3 days vacation in Chikmagalur. The 2 puppies Silly & Lilly were more like cherry on top, their involvement kept us entertained throughout.
