GRK Nature resorts — Hotel in Karnataka

Just left GRK Resorts on 20th May 2023, and here is my review, I liked the location, the hilly terrain of the place, rooms in high altitude which cascades down the hill, nice pool, nice restrooms, nice trek, nice jeep rides etc.,||However there is a twist in my review which is as follows:|1. Poor Management - You don't get a hold of any of the manger once you reach there. There is a guy named Pradeep who was avoiding us to make us speak with any of the managers there. We had an issue regarding an extra room however no one was available on the ground. He promised us that he would give some kind of resolution and asked us to check-in to the 2 rooms which he provided and to settle down later lets discuss on the issue...very smart and intelligent he is...so we checked in the afternoon, then we checked in evening no news, then I predicted the future saying the issue will not get resolved, next morning we will have breakfast and check out...it happened like how I expected. No toiletries were provided, no water can provided everything we need to ask them, they are very busy in counting the inflow of the people. They wont even bother to check if everything is good or not. Our hotels in Bangalore are good atleast they check with us if we require anything else. I met a manager, I dont want to take his name, I asked him whether he belonged to the Resort he said 'Hu', wonder of the wonders is they witnessed the situation but were not ready to help. Later on I learnt that it is divided based on Teams and Packages which was not explained in detail to us.|2. Booking - The booking happened over the call the person from GRK is in Bangalore who did not explain the tarrifs, the kind of packages or any other thing, later when we reached the resort, the unfortunate thing which is an advantage to them is no network, so you need to call in whatsapp which I called and there was no response at all and not bothered to call back.....|Ratings - 1|3. Assistant - You would be assigned with an assistant and so as to us, he is least bothered, i dont want to take his name and spoil his career, he was not checking on us on anything, everything we need to ask him for ex: Water can was provided after asking him 5 times, I called him to lay down the mattresses and bed spreads, he dint check with us, I dont know how few assistants wear uniforms and few do not wear any uniforms and stay wearing same clothes for days...Ratings - 1|4. Food - Yes Food was served in a good manner which I was happy but we dint like the taste but its fine as they dint stop us when we asked for more....Ratings - 4||Very Very Very Money minded guys. Dont be wooed by the YT videos or insta. The terrain is a problem because you need to walk a lot for each and every activity like a trek from lower terrain to high up the hill, so what happens is people just take rest and not care on rope activities etc., so kind of relief to the assistant because we dint ask for more activities...||Later we were asked to check out at 10:30 and we were given the reason that 70-100 people are coming in, so what should we do...Ideally speaking the check out time is 11:00AM. and the assistant was asking us to check out again and again, I just replied 11 is the check out and I will do then.||To conclude, the place is good, Trek is good, but they can do much much more better on the Hospitality side, @Management I know you may not bother to my reviews but please improvise on these points and I wish you should get 5 stars in my next...

Subject: Disappointing Stay – Unprofessional Service

I recently visited GRK Nature Resort, Sakleshpur with a group of 45 office colleagues, and unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations.

Despite being a large group, the resort failed to provide even basic necessities. There was no welcome drink, no proper reception staff, and a clear shortage of manpower. Though the rooms were decent, there were not enough towels, no proper hot water supply (especially inconvenient during the rainy season), water leakage on walls and windows, and no basic toiletries.

Other Major Concerns:

Conference hall was not cleaned, and there was no power for 3 hours during our scheduled event.

Poor lighting around the resort and poorly maintained pathways, making it unsafe and difficult for elderly guests to walk.

Mud volleyball court was unplayable due to waterlogging, stones, and deep potholes.

Volleyball court was in an unplayable condition and poorly maintained.

Cricket ground was average, but boundary nets were missing, causing many balls to be lost in the nearby forest.

Rain dance sprinklers were not maintained properly.

Adventure activities such as zipline and zip cycling were cancelled due to rain, with no proper alternatives offered.

No umbrellas were provided despite heavy rain.

On top of this, the Wi-Fi was barely functional. Extra food items were overpriced and not worth the cost. The lack of hospitality, coupled with inadequate facilities, left our entire group extremely disappointed. What should have been a peaceful team outing turned into a regretful experience.

Positives:

Food service staff were courteous, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were generally good.

The location is decent, though nearby activities had to be figured out on our own, as there was no proper guidance or suggestions from the staff.

Nearby Activities: Poor guidance; had to manage ourselves

Safety: Average/Okay

Walkability: Average/Okay

Food & Drinks: Lunch and dinner were good; breakfast acceptable

In Summary:

While the property may appear appealing at first glance, the lack of basic facilities, poor maintenance, and unprofessional customer service make it a huge letdown for first-time visitors. I would not recommend this resort unless they make drastic improvements in hospitality, safety, and essential amenities. Overall, the resort seems more suited for friends’ gatherings or casual parties, rather than for couples or corporate...
