We visited Belur and Yagachi Dam, and on the way stopped here for lunch with 4 families. Due to hunger and limited options nearby, we decided to dine at Hotel Mayura Yagachi. The place is extremely spacious but feels clearly understaffed. Hardly staff come to tables to attend the customers! Instead we had to reach billing counter!
We heard this is a KSTDC unit, and unfortunately, it gave the impression of being managed like any other government department – below average and lacking basic attention to service.
Our dining experience was quite disappointing. Many items on the menu were simply “not available.” We had very limited options and ended up ordering a few meals and egg fried rice. The fried rice was poorly prepared – undercooked, barely any egg, even salt wasn’t mixed properly (picture attached). When we raised this with the staff, there was no proper response. The meals were just average, nothing to recommend.
Overall, it was a very bad experience and certainly not up to the standard expected at a tourist spot. We strongly request the management and concerned department to improve food quality, availability, and customer service. There’s ample potential for this place to do better and generate good revenue, but only if officials show real...
Read moreRooms are spacious but lack proper maintenance; they smell of moisture ridden walls and fabrics. Spring mattress of low quality can be felt evidently as you sleep on it but it is not all bad as you get a good balcony and a comfortable bathroom.
Rooms are air conditioned but you also get fans if you don't want AC. Hot water is made available for limited time every day and the bathroom fittings work, mostly. There is a TV available in every room if you fancy entertainment.
Property hosts natural lawn and greenery around, with fountains (non working) or may be they are not fountains. Dining area can accommodate lot of people and looks decent but visit here on a weekday and you will find that they don't have lot of food options other than a couple of sandwiches.
What this place does not lack is good hospitality. This is probably the best budget-friendly hotel you can find to crash after a long journey with hassle-free on-boarding and a peaceful stay if you can manage the little inconveniences I have mentioned above.
Overall, I can say that I liked the stay considering it is located away from the city (read peaceful), 2 mins away from the Yagachi Dam, 3 Kms away from Beluru, and 15 Kms away from HalebiDu!
P.S. Carry your own blankets and towels...

Pros: • Conveniently located on the main highway, making it easily accessible for travelers. • The hotel is situated right in front of the scenic Yagachi Dam, which offers a nice view and peaceful surroundings. • It has a large property with plenty of open space. • The in-house restaurant is quite good, with a decent selection of food.
Cons: • The rooms are poorly maintained and in need of serious upkeep. • A damp, musty smell hangs in the rooms, which makes the stay uncomfortable. • There was no electric kettle provided. • Cleanliness is a major issue — rooms were very dirty. • Bed linens, pillows, and blankets were extremely unclean and appeared to have been used without washing. • No towels were provided. • Faced water supply problems during the stay and had to call the service desk for assistance. • The overall stay felt overpriced given the basic condition of the room and lack of proper amenities.
Conclusion: While the location next to Yagachi Dam and the decent restaurant are definite plus points, the poor condition of the rooms and lack of basic hygiene make it hard to recommend. Needs significant improvement to...
