Jade Hills is a must go place, if you’re looking for a beautiful and peaceful homestay.
Location: It’s located at a hill top, approximately 1.5 KM from Club Mahindra resort. The place is surround by nature with a lot of butterflies and birds visiting the homestay. (Note: The climb from the main entrance of the jade hills has to be done on 1st Gear (normal 4-wheelers or 2nd Gear (only in case of SUV’s). Secondly please note that the butterflies there tend to get violent at times, they chase you with their extra grown wings and your forced to look out for shelter )
Stay: Jade Hills is extremely well maintained with 5 rooms and a common dining place that has a T.V, all the rooms come with good beds, night lamp and attached bathroom. The rooms in particular have got a rustic feel which goes perfectly with its surrounding. (Note: During shower, even though hot water is available, the natural cold water is highly recommended)
Staff: The Booking of this place is handled by Mr. Bopanna who is an absolute gentleman and the caretaker is a lady called Pushpa who is helped with two of her kids Ganesh and Karthik who are extremely down to earth and friendly people. (Note: Do not call Bopanna as “sir”, he prefers to be called with his first name only)
Food: Jade Hills provides a complimentary breakfast and dinner on request with a reasonable fare. The food in particular is really good and Pushpa aunty and the kids serve it with lot joy and they do not stop serving till you say that “your done”. (Note: You need to take the last statement very seriously, you simply have to say enough once your done else Pushpa aunty keeps serving which would then go for a waste)
Places of visit:
Abbi falls: It’s around 10 KM from Jade hills, I would not recommend abbi falls as you need to see the falls from a distance and its very jam packed and there is nothing extraordinary about the falls.
Chelavara falls: This falls is more recommended as the water sprinkles on to your face and you could also get down and play in the water. But please do stay safe as the place is extremely slippery and has a good dept.
Raja’s Seat: Recommended to be gone early morning or late evening, silent and peaceful with a beautiful view of the low clouds and mist settling down on to the valley.
Mandalpatti: A nice beautiful place hill top .The place is accessible via Mahindra Jeep which you need to hire from the bottom of the hill and I am not very sure if you could take you own transport vehicle up there, but a highly recommended...
Read moreOur stay at Jade Hill Homestay in Madikeri, Coorg was nothing short of magical! Nestled right at the top of a hill, this pet-friendly retreat offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and the peaceful sounds of nature. We arrived just in time to witness a stunning sunset, setting the perfect tone for our getaway.||The hospitality of the caretaker, Pushpa aunty, and her son, Babith, was exceptional. They welcomed us with warmth, ensuring our comfort throughout the stay. The rooms were spotless, and their service made us feel completely at home. Though we arrived late and had to order dinner from a nearby restaurant (which was quite good), the real highlight of our trip was the delicious homemade breakfast prepared by Pushpa aunty. The Pundi and Kadla Curry were simply divine, and the bread omelet with jam was a treat. To top it off, hot tea was served early in the morning, followed by breakfast at our preferred time—a level of personal service that’s rare to find!||Beyond the comfort of the homestay, the nearby attractions are truly spectacular. We highly recommend catching the mesmerizing sunrise at Mandalpatti, visiting Vanachalu Falls, and exploring Nishani Hills, all within a short 3-4 km radius.||One of the best surprises was that Jade Hill Homestay offers internet connectivity, making it ideal for those who need to stay connected while enjoying nature’s tranquility. Whether you want to work remotely in a peaceful setting or just share your beautiful moments online, the reliable internet adds to the convenience of this serene retreat.||For those seeking a peaceful escape into nature, away from the city’s hustle, Jade Hill Homestay is the perfect choice. The combination of scenic beauty, exceptional hospitality, modern convenience, and affordability makes it a hidden gem in Coorg. Highly recommended for families, couples, and even solo travelers looking to rejuvenate amidst lush greenery and the calming melodies of birds. We can’t wait to...
Read moreAmazing place. Worth every penny you spend here. *Unwind yourself from hustling bustling life of city n spend some quality time here with just yourself/family/friends. *Amazing view to wake up with. No need to visit any sunset point, you can have one from here n it's mesmerizing. *Property is just awesome in its architecture n interior n esp location. Surrounded by trees n beautiful nature it gives a perfect getaway. Rooms n bathroom are neat n clean with mirror/pillow/bedsheet/ towels/drawers/hangers/some magazines. Toiletries are present in washroom with big mirror. Common room has TV, seating area, if you want to have food outside/inside, they have option for both(dining table inside n outside) Staff(2boys n aunty) is amazing. Though Amma doesn't know Hindi n English bt still was well bonded with my kids who were roaming behind her all the time as she was loving them. But both boys are very nice. They took care of everything, once asked they would make sure you get it if possible, even though market/shops are Lil far. Owner Prasanna(who we dint met personally n had only phone call with him) seems very polite n humble. Charges are affordable(includes breakfast/tea/milk).
Definitely recommend this place over any other homestay(where wifi won't be present possibly) or any resort (where u hv to pay lot more n pet won't be allowed). **if u have a pet then it's a great place, our dog enjoyed the view n location the most. Same with my toddlers who enjoyed playing there alot.
Pics of room are at time of checkout (got busy in beauty of the place at time of check in n forgot...
