We stayed here for two nights. You need to reach the hotel via a boat. The hotel arranges the boat to carry luggage as well as customers. We were not aware of this hence were a little shocked but the experience was great and different! The rooms are huge and comfortable, clean and big enough to accommodate three adults and one child. The premises are calm, beautiful and so close to nature. The domesticated elephants are well trained, well taken care of, the elephants bathing and feeding was a great experience. We also had elephants roaming around near our balcony, so wonderful! The safari was great as well and successful since we spotted a leopard!||Cons :||The menu of food can be better , it's limited and repeatative and not very kid friendly. We had asked for snacks with our drinks which too were not great. Service can be better as well , waiters are not available on call and there is no bell or phone so that's a challenge and they have a tendency to say no for everything! We were given 17&18 cottage rooms. The pathway is terrible and inspite of knowing we have baby, senior citizens, we were alloted those. We couldn't eat dinner a single day because we couldn't walk that way! They really need to fix it! Also cleaning of rooms had to be reminded , too buzy with new guests.||Overall experience was good but because of the proximity to Nature, elephants, overall ambience. Food, our rooms, the overall service and warmth of staff is something that needs improvement. We have stayed in other locations's JLR and they...
Read morePROS Ambience of the forest and cottage areas. Smiling and welcoming helpers. Kishore for safari, Jeevan and person who took us for Bird Watching. All of them were helpful and nice. Peaceful.ambience and greenery all around. Nice decent food which don't upset our stomach, not too much spread but sumptuous food. Jungle safari with Kishore was great, his willingness and forest visit ws great. Elephant feeding and elephant water shower was fun. Kids had an amazing time as there are many activities there.
CONS Price was on higher side when compared to the facilities inside cottage. Major turn off which we shared feedback was NO ge erator post 11pm. Whole night we stayed without fan on fuming simmer heat with insects outside. This was very upsetting for us. Don't expect too much room comfort as it's a jungle stay. But basic fan at night is must in summer. Owner took this feedback but our lost night sleep cannot be recovered. Parking was a struggle as no signals given clearly for JLR parking. But there is a Boatman from JLR always available there. Take right from entering parking area and dead end is car parking. Thankfully our car remained safe there for 2 days. Carry a torch due to frequent power cuts at night. Insect repellent cream can help for kids.
Surely worth the visit...

It's an elephant training camp. Elephants tied up in chains, held in captivity which we feel SAD! (It should be to deal with uncertain situation)
The trainers train them for the Dussehra festival in Mysore. It has entry fee of Rs 100 per person if you're visiting Dubare (if not staying into the camp, Rs 250 for Bathing time) We enjoyed bathing elephants, feeding them and roaming to their grazing areas. We shoot so many videos and photos. There are towers made to have memorable pictures to click.
One shocking incident happened - During the elephant bathing time, a family's bag full of jewellery, cash and cards got stolen. That family kept bag at the right bay of river and entire family went in to give elephant a bath. Later after few minutes, they found no bags. She was crying like baby. It was worth of 15+ lakhs. (BEWARE GUYS)
During Evening, it's a rush. I would suggest opt for morning time no matter of staying in dubare camp or not. During morning, less crowd, more fun. Since water in the river was at low level,so we didn't opt for...
