Honestly, I paid 60,000 rupees for maharaja room for 2 day for 2 people plus baby. The refrigerator in the room was not working. Hot water in the bathroom lasted maybe 2 minutes after over 1 hour of heating.
No availability of beverages like coffee and tea throughout the day. Nor any snacks even for purchase. Coffee and tea in the room is mediocre. I noticed some "vip's" got food that was outside the buffet menu. We got served some of the same currys from previous night.
They had a basic bar and can pour you drinks. Don't expect any cocktails. Nature trail could have been a great activity. But it's not maintained properly and lack of signage make it tricky to navigate.
The evening movie was not what was expected. Simply animal documentary. Was hoping and expecting more of a documentary of actual Kabini and National Park and origins of the lodge. We learned more at the bar with the available texts and photos than at the movie.
They have a small activity center behind the dining room. Zipline was fun. Unless you explore it, you will not know. Also this place and nature trail is filled with trash. There is a restroom next to dining hall. Hand dryer does not work. There are no paper towels either in bathroom. However, paper towels are available in opposite washroom.
When it comes to safari, it was "OK". The biggest issue I had was drivers were very inconsistent. Our morning driver was just driving back and forth. Our evening driver was complete opposite. He was informative and took his time for animal sightings and explained some history. It was much more interactive. However, we stayed in one place for way too long even after the initial siting instead of trying to find ither requested animals. But again, he was good about explaining trees, birds and other things.

I actually came across this property while searching for the famous Cleopatra (Black Panther) of Kabini. I booked it at a premium price since I was visiting during Christmas holidays. I researched it well and only this property has the permission to venture into the nagarhole tiger reserve amongst other resorts in the area.
Location:
It is spot-on the banks for river Kabini and the maharaja package rooms have a river facing balcony.
Rooms:
Good and spacious for the maharaja package that we booked.
Service:
This can definitely be improved since during checkout no one helped with our bags. I had to drag it out to my vehicle.
Food:
Lunch and dinner were decent but it could definitely be improved. Breakfast was very good though.
Value adds:
Only property to organise boat and Jeep Safari. It is included in the package. They have a dock in the river for quick boating. Spa available and was good. Ample place to roam around and spend time in the property. Kids can enjoy the rope play activities. Staff are responsive and help you when needed.
Things that went wrong for me:
Service during checkout Korakal ride was not given in the second day.

This was my first time to Kabini and it was really worth the experience. This resort is quite big and the rooms are big and spacious.. upto 3 people will be allowed to stay in one room.
We went as a group of 5 friends and opted for tent package. This will include one boat safari and one Jeep safari. Or one can also choose to go for 2 boat safari or 2 Jeep Safari.
About Boat safari - One of the best experiences and it’s around 3.5 hours return journey. Important thing is to remain silent on the boat so that we don’t scare or disturb the animals and birds 😊 And do not throw anything inside water. One can see different species of birds, elephants, deers, tiger(if one is lucky), crocodiles etc.
About Jeep safari: it’s again a 3.5 hours drive inside the Kabini forest.. breathtaking experience and inside forest will be super cool even during summers. Again one shouldn’t make any noise here 😊 It’s very hard to see wild animals and probably one should plan for 2 to 4 days so that we get lucky to see tiger.
Different species of birds, elephants, deers, Turtles, Tiger (if one is lucky), Beautiful peacocks (they really entertain us with their feathers and peacock dance), Sambar (Wild deer), wild squirrel etc.
The food over here is tasty and good varieties.. There is an amazing bar which has most of the international liquor served here since many foreigners also...
