We stayed for two nights, and not being a very active group, we were contended with some small beautiful walks in the adjacent paddy fields and coffee country. We indulged in the heavenly malnad cuisine prepared by ma'am Vasavi. The food is finger licking yummy (simply the best I ever had in any hotel or homestay), and can be reason enough to visit Meeslu Mane. Combine with it the beautiful location and the peaceful ambience and you have a picture perfect vacation to wean away your city noises and worries. The owners are super super nice and very very considerate towards providing a fabulous home away from home experience - you totally feel it! This place is pet friendly in a true sense, your pet will enjoy the unleashed freedom. And you will enjoy the strong brewed coffee and farm fresh figs and papaya with that. Bonsai lovers will have a treat seeing the beautiful garden Vasavi has crafted and created over the years. Bird lovers can see a multitude of winged beauties. The nights are dark with ample stargazing opportunities, with the romantic thoughts of being safe and cosy amidst the surrounding wilds (wild elephants often visit the paddy fields:-) The more adventurous folks have many beautiful trekking places around. Vasavi suggested Devaramane betta to us which was fabulous. All in all a great detox to refresh your soul. The place leaves a lasting memory and you would come away with a longing to go back again. Read moreMeeslu Mane... literally means Peaceful Abode... Hardly will you come across a home that is so true to its name. Just 30 minutes away from Belur, nestled in the middle of nature, lies this lovely abode. Tastfully decorated, spacious, well ventilated...it is nothing short of a mini palace, replete with huge garden, varandah, porch and a balcony. Bonsai garden and Tanjavoor paintings done by host Vasavi only add glamour to the place. The visit to this place is incomplete if you miss out on home cooked food, lovingly served in true Indian style of Aitithi Deo Bhav. Spread is sumptuous, tasty and the variety will put any 5 star resort Chef to shame. One tip though...in true indian way of treating guest whatever is cooked is offered to guests and the host Vasavi will patiently wait for the guest to finish their meals, before partaking any of it. A walk through paddy fields, coffee Plantation becomes a must after the meals and if you are lucky you will get to see Peacocks who stay just across the fields. A must visit home away from home, especially after hectic site seeing tour. You can't but help think...wish I had one more day to spend irrespective of your length of the stay. Vasavi is a super duper host, very friendly, excellent cook, artist ... Someone whom you will enjoy meeting...
