Mugila Mane ecostay — Hotel in Karnataka

I had visited on June 17th for 3 days at your homestay. It was a great stay we had. Myself and 7 more friends were there at your homestay and we enjoyed all the activities that were available there. The food was tasty and was served to perfection. Service was also prompt. The staff were very courteous and happy to help with whatever we required. The best part about the staff was that they would all work with a smile on their faces and cheerfully attend to every request of ours, no matter how small.

Special thanks to the manager in charge when we stayed. He managed our stay to perfection. He was in fact very knowledgeable and told us quite a few things about life in the estate, the life cycle of the coffee crops. When we were wondering about which places to visit during the day, he was even kind enough to suggest us Mullayanagiri peak (which we never had any plan of visiting but later enjoyed driving up the peak in our car).

As far as the rooms and the attached baths are concerned, they were flawless and all the bed linen were spotless white. This goes a long way in showing the commitment towards cleanliness.

I didn't find anything to complain about, except for the approach road from the main road highway to the homestay.. I drove in my Hyundai i20 which is quite a low car, and had to watch that my car bottom didnt get scraped on the rough, stone road. I expect this will be fixed in a short while since the homestay seemed to be fairly new when we went.

Overall, i think this homestay is offering excellent value for money for the tariff that they are charging and what they are providing, compared to other homestays in Chikmagalur. I would definitely like to visit here again when i come to...

Mugila mane homestay is half a km from main road and road is very bad with large patholes and sloppy road. I had to ask experience driver to get my car out of that while coming back.|| The room we got was most depressing room. gyser pipe was leaking as soon as I started tap so I got all wet. There was an exhaust window all open without grill. Anyone can peep into while you are taking bath or even snakes can come while you are sleeping. Roof was leaking from two places. And worst part is, if you want to complaint to care taker, he was sitting in room which is 300 meters far. We shifted to another room after some time where there was no exhaust at all. They did not even provide hot water though they claim 24/7 hot water. I suspect they closed gas gyser connection. They provided hot water next day only after 8 o'clock. Bathroom walls were basically partition and not touching the roof, so if you are taking bath with hot water, whole room will be filled in with vapor. |On food part we ordered veg food but there was a small chicken piece in the daal. Thank God we noticed it before eating. Dinning area was on the first floor and kitchen was on the ground floor, and they used to bring all the items open in which rain water was dropping in, water drops from roof was also dropping in the food. In short they were not bothered about your happiness at all.| |View may be good from there but accessibility, veg food, hospitality, communication was not at all good. ||This may be good for bachelors or trekking group but not at all good for family or veg people. ||They charge 1800 RS per head but in my opinion, not even worth 500 RS per head. |My wife thanked me for not booking it...

We are a group of 6 traveled all the way on a weekend from Bangalore in hope of a great natural experience. But, what we have encountered was a different thing. First of all, this place is still under construction by which you can understand how the appearance might be. The entrance to the cottage is not good at all, At least they could have tiled it so that in monsoon season it doesn't look bad. Cottage what we have got has two beds. Bed Sheets have marks on them which means that they weren't washed. Bathroom is opened into the room with no ventilation which is a disaster. Flush doesn't work and the soaps provided are clearly used. Towels are not cleaned and at the first look they are just muddy. After all these things, the owner quotes 2500 and gives it for 2200 which is still premium for the kind of facilities provided. As their website mentions, we haven't seen any other facilities or games.

Overall, it was a breach of trust and the customer satisfaction is impacted here. Beware of such false promises and in this case, we quickly reacted and went to an other homestay named as "Grand View Homestay" which was decent enough for a pricing of 1500 per head. The photos are attached as well...
