OYO 78307 amber homestay — Hotel in Karnataka

Please don't book this hotel. This was one of the worst experience for me. This was the second time I visited coorg and I wanted to stay near jungle and waterfall so I choose this place instead going for any hotel in Madikeri town. As I went in 1st week of September I was prepared for rain and all. When we reached there after 7hr drive and off roading, 1st thing they informed is they won't be able to provide food which is basic for any homestay or hotel near that area. Even paid food they didn't provide, said there cook is on leave. For proper good quality food you need to drive 10-15km, even for breakfast there was nothing.

PROS : Hotel location is very good, most of the places to visit in Coorg are near to this hotel. I have given one start extra only for the location.

CONS : No food. Even in bad weather you need to drive 10km for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You need to come back to this hotel before sunset or else it will be very difficult to reach during night. No proper maintenance of rooms. Balcony was dirty. We booked 2 rooms both of them were completely damped (Cupboard, Bed, Curtains, windows everthing). Due to dampnes it was smelling very bad. Toilet was also very dirty, water logged under toilet seat. No proper hot water system. They won't provide proper parking. Instead of parking space they made us park our vehicle in small fields without any shed. It was raining 24/7 and we had to keep our vehicles outside.

PS: May be we have experienced this because as per them it was "off season" so they didn't care about tourist at that time.

Please select homestay / Hotel which will give 3 times food, hot water, parking and proper...

Great place, stands up to the "luxury" tag in the name. Rooms are gorgeous, common living spaces are very fancy. The management is friendly and warm. The rooms are best fit for 2 adults, fitting in 3 adults means one of them has to sleep on the floor, as it's not practically possible for 3 adults to sleep on the king sized beds. Washroom are huge and pretty clean. Hot water is available 24/7 and complimentary toiletries is provided by OYO. Kitchen is a bit untidy, but manageable. Be sure to get your own dishwashing supplies, cause you'll need them for sure. An induction, utensils, salt & sugar are provided. If you are planning to visit on the weekends, then you'll be able to find a place to eat within kilometer away. But on weekdays, you'll have to go to the nearest town (4 km) to find anything at all to eat, and the nearest big-town (12 km) to find something decent. So, cooking on your own on weekdays is a better choice.

This place is very suitable for people planning to visit Dadiandamol trekking site, as this is the nearest stay available online. This place is just around 5 minutes ride from trekking start point. I strongly suggest this place to the mentioned trekking place for a stay. Trek is specially for sunrise and sunset, and easy to reach from this hotel (other hotels are very far and take your early morning precious time on road travelling). This stay is 34 kilometres away from Madikeri town towards Talacauvery road. Easy road connectivity. The trekking peak is the highest point inside whole Madikeri region and is difficult to make it to the top. The stay is also good enough but away from eateries. Please...
