Worst Experience
Since it was a long weekend and coorg hotels were mostly booked to capacity we somehow ended up booking Prashanti Resort for one night.
The check-in took a good 30 mins and the room was extremely basic with somewhat cleanliness to manage a night stay.
We did like the view from the room as it is somewhat on a valley with a little water stream visible from the room and surrounded by greenery.
This actually turned out to be a horrific experience in the end as we left for our early morning excursion to Mandalpatti, we had to literally cross herds of insects and reptiles and huge bugs & fireflies in thousands made it difficult to just go out of the resort.
We somehow managed to get out and complete our excursion and we returned at 11.00 am only to find the resort area completely infested with the wings of the bugs and flies at every step.
As we entered our room it was a scene straight out of some horror movie, our room was entirely filled with the flies and insects all over the wall floor and the beds and it was impossible to stay in the room for a min.
We somehow managed to pack our stuff while covering our heads and faces with napkins.
As we packed we decided to inform the owner about the condition since something like this shouldn't be left unnoticed as it's not for the faint hearted. And also, we left way before our check out time and without having our breakfast meal which was a part of the plan.
The owner was completely in disagreement and disregard of the inconvenience and trauma this had on our minds while on our trip to coorg. He made it sound obvious that if it rains, the room is ought to be filled with flies.
He simply said we can get it cleaned for you and we have not put the insects here. When we complained about the service, he said we did bring 'bucket of hot water' for you when asked. Isnt this basic and the tap should have hot water instead of us asking?
The management should close the resort immediately and fix this before hosting any guests.
This is the worst experience ever and to the management I say this never happens even in jungle camps and treks all you needed to do was to be prepared and used relevant insecticide spray or anything of that nature to prevent such...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA small resort. Room rent is very high for what it offers. The rooms are of average size but fittings were of poor choice. They used Aluminium doors and windows in our room and that let in lots of insects even with all doors and windows closed. The resort is full of plants and it was raining when we went. There were leeches all around and there was a snake at the doorstep of one of the rooms, while these are expected in such a place the lack of lighting on the path made things worse. We had to use mobile flash light to go anywhere.
Buffet Food cost was exorbitant, when we decided to eat elsewhere they charged us only half of what they originally quoted for our group, but they reduced the varieties. So, the second day lunch we ate outside. For dinner again they convinced us to eat by giving more varieties.
The resort has two entrances, one for parking lot and one close to reception. They don't have any security on the parking gate and they keep it locked all the time. This was irritating as we had to get someone from reception to open the gate and sometimes we had to walk all the way to reception to bring someone to open the gate.
Most of us had rooms near the reception. We went there in a car and van. On the day of checkout we asked them to prepare the bill and also to open the gate so that we can park in front of reception gate to load luggage, as there was no one concierge facilities and insufficient room boys. But they refused flatly by saying only after settling the bill they'll open the gate, which they raised only after 30 minutes. After telling them that we only want the van to be near the reception gate and car will be in parking only, they opened the gate.
Their attitude regarding the food costs/varieties and locking the gate thinking anyone will leave without paying bill in a slow tourist van is ridiculous and plain stupid. Is this the way they'll treat guests? We travel frequently and this is the first time we encountered such a behavior. The name of the resort and their behavior is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt even want to give 2 star for this resort because of the Resturant manager , but giving because of the location and other staffs. I along with my wife and 9 years of kid visited this property to stay for 2 nights for our anniversary celebration. 1st night we ordered 1 chicken biriyani, 1 fish fry and 1 chicken ghee roast. Ghee roast is good, but chicken biriyani is chicken fried rice. As we required one more chicken Biriyani to match our hunger we ordered during our dinner. After 15 minutes of wait I asked them why itās taking so much of time for biriyani? The Resturant manager replied ā we are making everything fresh here and I am preparing your chicken biriyani now. Wait for another 5 minutes.ā But after again 15 minutes when dish not came then I asked ā will you give biriyani or shall we leave.ā After this the inbehavioural manager shouted ā why are you shouting in-front of my 20k customer, where I paid around 7k for 2 days stay. Then he said I donāt have biriyani, if you want anything else let me know.ā Also said some other lines which I never expected in-front of my son. We slept with half empty stomach. My son cried like anything.
I was just thinking why I came to this resort whereas so many options are available near by with same budget.
We took room with hill view which view was awesome . But the cons is if next room is occupied , then the sound of that room will never let you sleep peacefully during night because of so transparent , Which happened to us as next room occupied with bachelors.
Rain dance and campfire is a myth here. 1st day they told itās is not possible as it was raining which is obvious. 2nd night they told campfire will do at 8.30 pm which not happened. I donāt know what triggered them at night 10.30 pm , they started campfire with only 3 people around.
Location is good...
