Our recent stay at Raxidi Jungle Homes in the heart of Sakleshpur's coffee forest was an absolutely memorable and nice experience. This secluded stay not only provided an exceptional culinary experience but also an unforgettable experiential adventure.Nestled amidst the lush, untouched greenery of Sakleshpur, Raxidi Jungle Homes offered a unique blend of tranquillity and exploration. From the moment I arrived, I was spellbound by the serene surroundings, chirping of birds and the warm hospitality of the staff.
The food at Raxidi Jungle Homes was nothing short of extraordinary. Each meal was a masterpiece of local authentic flavors made by skilled hands. The ingredients were fresh, and the taste divine. Appreciate the cooks who were very humble and accommodative to our requests. Dining in the heart of the forest, with the symphony of nature as the backdrop, was an experience that words cannot truly describe.
The accommodations were comfortable, neat and very apt for the price. Waking up to the sounds of the forest, sipping coffee on the private balcony, and stargazing at night were moments our family cherished.
What truly set Raxidi Jungle Homes apart was the wide array of activities they offered. Guided treks through the jungle, Drive on the 4x4 Jeep to the private waterfalls, birdwatching in the early morning, and evening bonfires under the stars were just some of the unforgettable experiences I enjoyed. You know what? It's an approximate 900 acre estate Full of coffee. I really appreciate the Jeep driver, who went beyond his duty to help us use the falls and provided his support for safety.
The commitment of Raxidi Jungle Homes to keep customers happy is appreciable. They've created an environment where guests can reconnect with nature and appreciate its wonders. Being in the wild, I had trouble connecting to the office, and the owner, though he was in a remote city, made needed arrangements.
In summary, my stay at Raxidi Jungle Homes in the heart of Sakleshpur's forest was just awesome. If you're seeking a one-of-a-kind experience that seamlessly combines exceptional food with an immersive connection to nature, private waterfalls, this remarkable retreat is the place to be. My gratitude goes out to the entire team at Raxidi Jungle Homes for crafting a stay that I'll cherish forever. Of course if i have to visit Sakleshpur, i will definitely...
Read moreWe stayed at this Resort on a weekend, and we completely didn’t like. Let me break down it for you.
Pros: Inside a jungle- Huge coffee plantation of 500 acres 2 cute pet Cats Nature walks
Cons :
Poor Road Access: The road leading to the homestay is a rough, muddy stretch about 5 km long. During the rainy season, it becomes nearly impossible to drive unless you have a high-clearance vehicle like a Jeep or Thar. Despite asking about the road conditions multiple times, we were not informed, and our car got stuck on a dangerous cliffside stretch. Traveling with elderly parents made the situation even more stressful and unsafe.
Converted Family Home This property is essentially a converted family home, with one dormitory(the hall and the dinning) and two additional bedrooms. However, the access to the separate rooms involves steep staircases, making it completely unsuitable for elderly guests or families with small children.
Cramped and Damp Rooms: The rooms are quite congested and have a persistent damp odor. While the bathrooms are relatively spacious, the overall accommodation quality is subpar.
Inconvenient Kitchen and Dining Area: The kitchen and dining space are located far from the rooms, which adds to the inconvenience, especially in bad weather.
Food Options: The food served is of Malnad cuisine, with a heavy use of coconuts. Though it was something that did not suit our taste preferences.
Power Issues As it’s located inside a coffee estate majorly a vast jungle so there is No power in the night time. so sleepless night.
Private Waterfall: The so-called “private waterfall” is actually 2 km away from the homestay. To reach it, you must take their private jeep and then walk nearly 900 meters on a slippery grassy path, including a climb down a small cliff. It’s neither child-friendly nor safe for elderly adults. One wrong step might slide you down the falls.
Isolated and Boring Location: Once you reach the homestay, you're essentially cut off from all local sightseeing spots in Sakleshpur due to the poor road conditions. After 4–5 hours, there's nothing much to do, and the location starts to feel extremely isolated and boring.
Moral of the Story; Would not recommend to visit this homestay with family as it gets boring after 4-5 hours as you have nothing much to do so definitely NOT...
Read moreAmazing stay with family In a heaven on earth.. We visited for a overnight stay in our busy schedule. First we started from Mangalore and reached Sakleshpur in the late afternoon and visited Manjarabad fort. When going through to book a place for overnight stay at any estates , as it was busy weekend almost all places were full. Some one recommended Raxidi Jungle Homes, luckily we found this place which was like heaven on earth. It’s located about 10kms away from Sakleshpur to Mudigere Road. When we arrived the host Mr. Hafeez and Ashfaq Ismail welcomed us with a great affection. Property Raxidi Jungle Homes is situated admists 900 acres of lush green coffee estates. The 4 bedded room provided to us was a basic but clean and neat. Most awaited thing was their activities. Cricket, badminton, carrom, Table tennis, chess, dart and what not.... which is enough for kids and family to play relax and rejuvenate. Food they provided was awesome and uncompromising wonderful... no words to explain.. All the staff are very polite and especially the head cook is very gentle who keeps an eye on what the guests expect. Before we say the staff caters to their need. Most awaited thing is their Estate safari and Waterfall visit on their Jeep with host Hafeez.. with their family story of grand father who purchased the estates in 1946. First thing we thought the price was little on higher end but after the facilities, food and safari we thought it’s nothing what we pay. If you come with a group you will definitely enjoy their DJ and camp fire arrangements. Over all we had a complete relaxation. Recharged bod and soul... Over all amazing experience Once again Thanks to Hafeez, Ismail Ashfaq and their team... Keep up...
