Banasura hill resort is a beautiful resort tucked away in nature. The resort is located on the other side of Banasura hill which very less explored and less populated. Located at Vellamunda this place is 3500 ft. above sea level, it is an eco-friendly resort with a rustic look. The mud rooms are very spacious and well furnished. Even though the rooms did not have an air conditioner, it was very cold at night because we visited the resort in December. Earlier the resort had thatched roof but due to heavy maintenance cost, they were changing it to tile roof. There is a waterfall very close to the resort and a guided trek to the waterfall is just awesome. The trek was very scenic, through the forest. When we reached the waterfall, we were the only ones there and we spend a lot of time alone in nature. We were in for another treat as in the evening we were taken for a walk through the tea estate and to a private stream running through the property. Again it was just us and we spend hours playing in the stream. It was a real treat and nature at its best. Early in the morning, inside the resort premises there is a path, a small trek that takes you to the highest point in the resort. A view point awaits you with a breath taking view of Banasura hill. I took the trek at around 6 am. It was foggy and cold and the walk through the forest was really refreshing. The staff were really caring and helpful. The restaurant is very unique, with a beautiful view of the forest. The restaurant staff were very courteous and the food was very tasty. They were attentive to our needs and were on their toes helping us out with our requirements. Inside the resort there is also a Heritage site, a pazhassi guha, where the king used to hide from the Britishers. Inside the resort is also a meditation hall, a reading area and also a small museum with traditional wayanadan heritage items and paintings. Nothing negative to write about the resort except for the maintenance work that was going on during the time of our stay. We had a great time at the resort. I recommend this resort and will also visit again. The approach road to the resort as on 2022 December was not very good. Atleast two to three kms of off roading was required. But it was...

Sprawling over 42 acres, this resort hosts a wonderfully carved out rooms and villas in the shadow of Banasura hill with activities of its own kind. The nature trails and walks are filled with abundance of greenery and rusticness everywhere added worthiness to the earthiness of this resort. A perfect place for detoxification from technology and likes. The WiFi is limited to the main foyer, the mobile signal are limited to few high grounds and corners of the resort, the large rooms are lit with dim lights, large windows with views of hills, ponds and jungle with different kinds of chirps and buzzes gives a totally different feel to the place. The places worth seeing in Wayanad are at a distance which requires driving downhill and uphill which itself is a fun. The evening campfire embers on high ground near Elephant rock lighting up the jungle night sky added thrill to the stay at the hill resort. The courtesy and the helpfulness of staff was very pleasing and added value to the stay. Definitely get the coolant and engine checked before driving to this place, the engine may heat up if not in good condition. The little daughter had a great time running all along the large room and spending lot of time just staring outside the large window seeing the trees swaying, birds flying, insects buzzing, and the high hills and expressing them in her own words with giggles and wiggles. You get to have lot of family time not surfing net, making calls, standing still in traffic inhaling toxic air of city. This is definitely a good break from all of these with just you and your family with nature...

Give them best place to play but nthn of tat sort!!!!! Then comes food... No option at alllll!! Only four pages of menu and not even starters are mentioned in separate page... It's worst than local small hotel. For baby khichdi or baby horlicks they charge like hell!! Food we can atleast pay but for baby food??!!
No proper heaters... Every 10 minutes it would get off and had to call those people in middle of the night but since no landline working state we had to call Google provided number!!!
Hell it was! No proper connectivity here for hotels or any town nearby... We had to travel around 8-10kms for a good hotel to eat since the taste they provide and the charge for it was horrible and ridiculous!!!!
Service was ok cz all North Indian worker work here from Bihar and places and jus tat people are helpful v cud atleast stay for a day! But since heater din work and full of cold we caught v bad cough and cold and my kid too!!!! It's like I myself paid to get sick!!!!!
