Best Mist Homestay — Hotel in Kerala

It's a bit of a way out in the sticks but worth the detour if you can find a way to get there for its incredible 360° views of the surrounding tea and coffee estates. The owner was away when we visited (we only got in touch at the last minute) but his local helper Titus was a gem. Although his English vocabulary was small, he kept us informed and entertained, telling us about the tea and coffee in the area and made us by far the best tasting coffee I've had in India so far! The room itself was an odd shape and no towels were provided but from the room you could access a balcony which encircles the building as well as the inside hallway which is cool. The over-sheet for the double bed was a bit small for two people so we did have to borrow one from a vacant room. Did I mention the coffee Titus made us in the morning? It was incredible. You can get right up atop the building and see for a very long way in every direction. I expect in monsoon season, the atmosphere can become incredible with the mist/low clouds. It's the perfect view point so a very lucky location for a place to stay. There was a bit of confusion about the previous evening's agreed price over the phone in the morning which was inconvenient as the owner was uncontactable at first but it was resolved within about 10 to 15 minutes so...

Wonderful homestay. Hospitable hosts. Serene location. The hosts were very helpful in guiding us to reach the location, even though we arrived very late night. We asked for nearby church to attend the Sunday mass and they were so helpful that he certainly till church in his car to show us way. Rooms were neat and maintained. There is no TV in room. Rooms had a connected balcony...

IT IS The Most awesome quiet place WE have ever Seen here. IT sits on top of a big hill with nothing but a 360degree View around. No Cars, No rikshaws, Just peace. And birds. The nice Person in Charge Comes in The morning to Serve breakfast,after That you have The house all to yourself. And The teaplantations around....
