We had an unforgettable week at this secluded villa in Wayanad, Kerala, and we can't recommend it enough! If you're looking for a peaceful, private retreat surrounded by nature, this place is exactly what you need.
The villa is tucked away in a quiet valley, offering total seclusion, with only the caretaker's house visible nearby. It truly felt like our own secret paradise. Getting there was a breeze—it's about a 3-hour drive from Calicut Airport, and the staff took care of all the transport arrangements. Sultan Bathery and Kalpetta are just 30-40 minutes away, so if you want to explore, it's easy to do.
The villa itself is a masterpiece. The design blends indoor and outdoor living, and upstairs you'll find two private, air-conditioned bedrooms. We stayed in the master, which was spacious and comfy, with a lovely balcony and incredible views. The plunge pool overlooking the river was the perfect place to unwind (though it’s a bit small for laps).
The hospitality was second to none. Saidasan, the manager, was always around and went out of his way to make our stay extra special. He even arranged a visit to his other resort by a beautiful lake, which was a nice bonus. The villa staff, particularly Jishnu and Ujwal, were incredibly responsive and always ready to help with anything we needed.
The food was definitely a highlight. Every meal was different, fresh, and full of flavor. They made sure we never had the same dish twice, and it was all included in the price. We especially enjoyed the daily fresh coconuts and the locally sourced Wayanad coffee and tea. While they don’t serve alcohol, there’s a shop nearby where you can easily pick some up.
Although we mostly stayed in and relaxed at the villa (it’s hard to leave when it’s this peaceful!), there’s plenty to see if you're up for some exploring. The staff helped us organize trips to nearby towns, museums, and even Mysore Palace, which is about a 3-hour drive away. The local auto drivers were super friendly, and getting around was a breeze.
All in all, this villa is a true hidden gem—offering a mix of luxury, tranquility, and top-tier hospitality. It's the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of Kerala. A huge thanks to Saidasan and the team for making our stay so unforgettable—we can't wait...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being one of the first guests to stay at Bhadra Estate Villa, and it was an unforgettable experience! Nestled within a private 10-acre coffee plantation, the villa offers the perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. The industrial design with high ceilings, brick walls, and black iron window frames gives the villa a unique charm, while the stunning views of the surrounding greenery and the serene stream flowing in front create an idyllic setting.
I stayed at Bhadra Estate Villa to complete a book I was writing, and it proved to be the perfect spot for that. The peaceful atmosphere allowed me to focus and find inspiration in the beauty of nature all around. The spacious bedrooms with king-size beds and standalone bathtubs overlooking the coffee plantation added to the comfort and relaxation.
The service was impeccable, with a 24/7 caretaker ensuring all my needs were met. The food was another highlight of my stay - the villa offers a delicious selection of traditional Kerala cuisine, prepared with fresh, organic ingredients from a nearby farm. Each meal was a delightful experience, whether enjoyed on the deck or in the cozy living room with its lush green surroundings.
I highly recommend Bhadra Estate Villa for anyone seeking a luxurious and peaceful retreat. Whether you’re looking to unwind, find inspiration, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature, this villa is the perfect...
Read moreI recently visited this place with friends and to me the most striking feature of this property is its design and the way the modern ethos of exposed brick and concrete has been blended so seamlessly into the environs of the beautiful greenery of the western ghats. Another highlight was talking to its owner and creator Mr. Sai Das and learning of how the place evolved and the challenges faced along the way. Every little piece of design there has a story. Hats off to his creativity and hands on style. Coming to our stay we were lucky to get one sunny day and one really misty day and both have their own allure. The loud cicadas and the gushing stream are part of the background score there. We did not get to venture into the pool so that's for the next time. This place would be ideal for honeymooners due to its exclusive nature. On the food part they were very accomodative of our requests and you need to place your orders earlier as the ingredients are procured fresh and prepared based on our orders. Jishnu was always there on call to help us with amything and everything. One piece of advice, The last part of the access route is slippery and we had a tough time with a Honda city so would recommend a vehicle with higher ground clearance especially around the monsoon. We will surely be returning here to recharge...
