Cardamom Village Plantation Homestay — Hotel in Kerala

This was by far the most peaceful stay we had in Kerala. The host family is very kind and accommodating. The man of the house Mr. Verghese is a wonderful person. The kids and the wife are very nice. It gives you a very good feeling to be staying at such a family's place. The breakfast was homely and very fulfilling. We even had dinner twice at the Homestay and it was quite delicious. I would highly recommend this place for people who've come just for a break with not much activity. This Homestay is located well 8 kms from the bus stand, on and on you go into the Cardomon village and then u arrive here. Under the syn it is very hot to venture hot or do that 4-5 kms of walking before u reach some sort of place with restaurants and shops etc. But we loved our walks in the evening to this nearby (1.5 km away) view point. Rickshaw to and from the Homestay is 160-200 each time. So one has to consider that as well. Otherwise, it is a lovely retreat. The family has two rooms for guests. One is smaller with twin beds and washroom outside. While the other is perfect with a double bed. A working table and chair and sitting space and attached bathroom. Very clean with hot shower. The surroundings are pretty peaceful. A great break from chaos that India mostly is..oh and they've a wifi too. Worked on and off during our stay but pretty sufficient to keep in touch with the rest...

This homestay is in a beautiful quiet mountain setting next to cardamom plants, tall trees, a variety of other local spices. The owner, his wife, and their two sons were warm and welcoming. They asked for our preferences in the food they prepared for us and were attentive to our needs. They took us on a guided walk through their area.|||| The food was delicious! They used freshly picked vegetables from their garden. We had wonderful conversations with each member of the family. We stayed in one of two available rooms for guests--a true homestay. The room was clean and well-maintained with a double bed, desk, and chair with an adjoining private bathroom.|||| This homestay is difficult to find since it is located in a rural area, and it was helpful to call the owner to get directions. Not easy to locate using Google Maps. Google Maps would drive you very near to the Home Stay but not to the exact location, so better take help of the owner. Ample Parking space. Had a one night stay. Booked 2 Rooms for a good deal on GoIbibo. Very quick Check In & Check Out. It is in a village which is 6Kms/20 mins drive from the town. So plan accordingly. Did not try their home made Dinner as it was 10:30 PM by the time we reached the Home Stay. Family (including the kid) were waiting to welcome the guests, so guys who are planning to stay for a day or two would definitely enjoy their hospitality.|Rooms & Bathrooms were spacious. Home Stay is perfect for Family & Couples. Well maintained Bed Linen & Towels.
